Of late, videos by music producer and composer @yashrajmukhate have gone viral, and they're very catchy. There's no such thing as too many sketchbooks! Impulse purchase — ordered these from Amazon. Cubic 1300 Kraft A6 sketchbook and Menorah A7 sketchbook. Both came in packs of 4 hence the larger number of books! I believe it was @tejo_oo who posted sometime back about these @menorah.in books being available. #pixel2xl #teampixel #karthikabhiram

[@inktober #inktober #inktober2020 Prompt Word "Coral" #inktober2020coral]The Walking Dead (2010-Present)Developed by Frank DarabontThe Inktober prompt word for a couple of days back was "Coral" and I immediately thought of this meme based on the show "The Walking Dead". The show is a critically acclaimed one, based on a comic series. I actually watched the early seasons of the show, but have not seen the recent episodes from the past few years. The show involves the events that take place after a zombie apocalypse. I always appreciated the realistic, gritty nature of the show and the excellent acting (I believe this was the first time I got to see actor Jon Bernthal who would later go on to play The Punisher).Andrew Lincoln stars as the lead character Rick Grimes, and his son is Carl. The accent of the character makes it sound like he is saying "Coral" instead, and hence that became a source for memes, which employ an image from an emotional moment on the show, with a dad joke in the caption.So that's what I did for this sketch. Drawn with ballpoint pen and Gelly Roll. The art related puns are not mine, I looked them up. [@inktober #inktober #inktober2020 Prompt Word "Teeth" #inktober2020teeth]Wanted (2008)Directed by Timur BekmambetovAn Inktober sketch I started a couple of days ago, finishing it now only because I was busy with work. This is from a scene in the movie "Wanted" where Wesley Gibson (James MacAvoy) whacks his obnoxious colleague (Chris Pratt) with a keyboard, and the letters spell out "Fuck You", echoing what is in the character's mind. A small visual detail that one may not notice at first, is that a keyboard has only one "U", so the last "U" is actually the Chris Pratt character's tooth. This is what I thought for the Inktober prompt, so I drew it.The movie is a very entertaining and violent action movie, loosely based on a comic book series. I loved the attitude, and the fact that it makes good use of its R rating and shows plenty of violence and bloodshed. It's very stylised, with its plot of assassins who can curve bullets and can kill people from miles away, with very flashy visual effects. It comes from director Timur Bekmambetov who had a hit with the Russian "Nochnoi Dozor" a.k.a. "Night Watch".Oh and several years later, these same two actors would go on to portray Marvel comics characters, but just not in the same Universe. So this is actually Charles Xavier whacking Star-Lord with a keyboard, the former from the erstwhile 20th Century Fox Marvel movies, and the latter from the hugely successful Marvel Cinematic Universe. There is a third Marvel Universe, the awkwardly named Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (look it up, I'm not kidding), with the Venom and Spider-Man properties.The drawing was done with Bic multi colour ballpoint pen on A5 sketchbook. Constantine (2005)Directed by Francis LawrenceEntry for the @inktober #inktober #inktober2020 prompt word "Wisp". I thought of this scene from "Constantine" where Keanu Reeves blows cigarette smoke into a glass, trapping a spider in it and says, "Welcome to my life". "Constantine" is a well made movie that I must re-watch, it has been a long time. I remember it was entertaining and had great visuals. You'll notice that I am behind with the prompts. This was actually the word for Day 2, but as this is a more complicated sketch, it took longer to draw. So I did the Day 4 prompt also on the same page.
