Game of Thrones (2011-19)Created by David Benioff and D B WeissThis drawing is an entry for @mangopenciler's #drawwithmango challenge, where a few of us artist friends decided to draw the same reference picture in our respective styles. This time the picture chosen was one of Maisie Williams as Arya Stark from “Game of Thrones”. I've not watched the show, so this is the first drawing that I'm doing here without being familiar with the source material. I don't know where this fits into the overall continuity of the show. Well, when the time comes and when I'm not very occupied with work, I suppose I'll binge the whole show. This drawing is the size of a 1 Rupee coin and was drawn with my 0.5mm 2B mechanical pencil. I used a bit of white gel pen around the eyes. This is a scan of the drawing, you can see a photo on my @karthikabhiram account.#DailyMovieSketch #pencilart #pencil #miniatureart #miniature #miniaturedrawing#gameofthrones #got #maisiewilliams #aryastark#410 / 26-Jan-19

Glass (2019)Directed by M Night ShyamalanI am a big fan of M Night's unique take on the superhero movie – 2000's "Unbreakable". I drew a sketch based on it for sketch number 100 on this account too. And 17 years later, "Split" was an entertaining movie that took things to a whole new level, by linking its plot with "Unbreakable". So now, we have a sequel, "Glass". This brings the main characters from those two films into one movie – the Superhero, David Dunn (Bruce Willis), the villain The Horde (the man who has 24 personalities, played superbly by James McAvoy), and the criminal mastermind Elijah Price (Samuel L Jackson). I'm not giving away any more plot details as it's better to go into this movie spoiler free.I liked the movie overall. James McAvoy is the best thing about the movie, really selling the multiple personality thing. Like I mentioned in my "Split" review a couple of years ago, the character would have become a caricature if it were handled by a lesser actor. The cinematography and music are all great. I thought the story was engaging and interesting as well. However, as much as I liked the film, personally I was a bit let down because I thought the scope was rather limited, and that they could have done something bigger with these characters. But one has to appreciate the world and character building that Shyamalan has done and his unique vision. I drew Samuel L Jackson from the movie, ironically for a movie called "Glass", he has relatively less to do in it.This one doesn't get a sketch number because it's part of a larger overall work. The drawing was done with 0.5mm 2B pencil. Also featured here is a shot from the trailer of "Spider-Man: Far From Home". #glass #daviddunn #overseer #KARTHIKABHIRAM #DailyMovieSketch #TEAMPIXEL #split #unbreakable #pencilart #spiderman #farfromhome #spidermanfarfromhome

#10YearChallenge — #KarthikAbhiram × #DailyMovieSketch! The artwork on the top is from early 2009, my ballpoint pen drawing showing the Best Movies of 2008, which included the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, “Iron Man” (2008). Flash forward 10 years later, and “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018) is on this Best Movies of 2018 drawing. 10 years ago, there was no @instagram and no @dailymoviesketch, so I wasn’t doing this regularly, but since 2017, I’ve done this yearly roundup of the best movies of the past year and anticipated movies in the present year. This time as I’ve been busy with work, the drawing is taking time but I’m getting there. I watched “Glass” on Friday, will be posting my review of that as well shortly. #vsco #google #pixel2xl #TEAMPIXEL

OK, so pictures like this (art related posts) get less engagement, compared to other posts, however I'm still going ahead and putting this up. This one shows the progress on my Best Movies of 2018 and Anticipated Movies of 2019 Drawing for @dailymoviesketch. Progress has been slow since I've been tied up with work and I also had an art exhibition last weekend. The drawing of John Krasinski from "A Quiet Place" was done mostly during the art event. This was the drawing I was working on, in the photos on Stories. Though each of these drawings is one inch square in size, I'm still taking time to detail them. I'm posting this photo on both @karthikabhiram and @dailymoviesketch, the latter more to give a progress update and not to keep that account idle. Let's see how soon I'll be able to finish this, hopefully before one of the 2019 Anticipated Movies is released! #canon #5DMarkIII #85mmf18 #DAILYMOVIESKETCH #KARTHIKABHIRAM

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018)Directed by David SladeFirst sketch being posted in 2019 (I need to get used to putting 19 for the date instead of 18 now)! I started work on my Best Movies of 2018 and Anticipated Movies of 2019 artwork, but that will take some time for me to complete.I re-watched "Bandersnatch" yesterday, selecting some different options than what I chose earlier (see my earlier post — this is an interactive film where you get to guide the narrative by choosing different options). I got to view a different ending that I hadn't seen before. This is a drawing of Will Poulter as Colin Ritman, during an LSD fuelled scene (hence the distortion of the eyes). The music playing in this scene is Tangerine Dream's "Love on a Real Train". The drawing was done with 0.5mm 2B mechanical pencil on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned.#DailyMovieSketch #blackmirrorbandersnatch #blackmirror #bandersnatch #pencilart #tangerinedream#409 / 1-Jan-19
