[@inktober #inktober #inktober2020 Prompt Word "Teeth" #inktober2020teeth]Wanted (2008)Directed by Timur BekmambetovAn Inktober sketch I started a couple of days ago, finishing it now only because I was busy with work. This is from a scene in the movie "Wanted" where Wesley Gibson (James MacAvoy) whacks his obnoxious colleague (Chris Pratt) with a keyboard, and the letters spell out "Fuck You", echoing what is in the character's mind. A small visual detail that one may not notice at first, is that a keyboard has only one "U", so the last "U" is actually the Chris Pratt character's tooth. This is what I thought for the Inktober prompt, so I drew it.The movie is a very entertaining and violent action movie, loosely based on a comic book series. I loved the attitude, and the fact that it makes good use of its R rating and shows plenty of violence and bloodshed. It's very stylised, with its plot of assassins who can curve bullets and can kill people from miles away, with very flashy visual effects. It comes from director Timur Bekmambetov who had a hit with the Russian "Nochnoi Dozor" a.k.a. "Night Watch".Oh and several years later, these same two actors would go on to portray Marvel comics characters, but just not in the same Universe. So this is actually Charles Xavier whacking Star-Lord with a keyboard, the former from the erstwhile 20th Century Fox Marvel movies, and the latter from the hugely successful Marvel Cinematic Universe. There is a third Marvel Universe, the awkwardly named Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (look it up, I'm not kidding), with the Venom and Spider-Man properties. The drawing was done with Bic multi colour ballpoint pen on A5 sketchbook. Swipe to see a scan and also a video of me drawing the actual tooth.#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing #ballpointpenart#wanted #angelinajolie #jamesmacavoy#559 / 19-Oct-20
