c u soon (2020)Directed by Mahesh NarayananThis movie was released a few days ago on Amazon Prime, and I was excited to watch it after seeing the trailer a little while back. This is a story told entirely through things happening on a computer screen, similar to "Searching" (which in my opinion was one of 2018's best movies). The film was apparently shot on iPhone (though, the end credits have a Lumix logo, indicating that the filmmakers may have used one of the G series cameras for capturing some of the footage) in Kochi, a couple of months back, with a very small crew, adhering to COVID-19 restrictions. The film stars Roshan Mathew as Jimmy, who works at a bank in the UAE. He meets Anumol (Darshana Rajendran) on Tinder, and they get into a relationship. Kevin (Fahadh Faasil) is Jimmy's cousin, who has to intervene when Anu goes missing. The movie was well made, an engaging thriller. The acting is excellent all round, and the filmmakers got creative with the different chat and video call displays, employing zooms when needed to add a bit of dynamism to the movie. Just as in "Searching", when you think about it, all the software user interfaces and animations must have had to be created from scratch in After Effects or whatever software they used, and they're all done very well (perhaps a certain font here or there may have been misplaced, otherwise it's all very accurate). All of this is backed with an interesting story that's well told in just under 100 minutes. A definite must watch film!I drew Fahadh as Kevin from the movie. The drawing was done with Bic ballpoint pen, Gelly Roll pen, red ballpoint pen on A5 sketchbook. Swipe to see the scanned version and also a short video of the initial part of the drawing. I shot the pictures on a bean bag sent as a gift, by @rajithrajappan.#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing#fahadhfaasil #cusoononprime@primevideoin@canonindia_official #canon #200d #50mm #24mm28@instagram #hellofrom Hyderabad India #hellohyderabad #thisweekoninstagram #bornoninstagram#551 / 6-Sep-20

It has been a while since I put up a post with my own pictures, so here is a set of 10, to indulge one's narcissism! All taken at home by myself, phone photos. I guess these are better for a little bump in engagement as well? Quite a few of them are pictures I took for posting on Stories, as I'm doing a 30 Days Strength Challenge, initiated by @soumyavedi. Also, these depict the beard as it is now. #pixel2xl #teampixel #karthikabhiram

Last entry for @aninchaugust #aninchaugust #aninchaugust2020 Prompt "Texture" suggested by @musa_the_sculptor. I know, August is over but I wanted to draw this anyway. I suppose this could have been done better but I attempted realism here. #pixel2xl #teampixel #karthikabhiram

One more set of macro pictures for the @aninchaugust #aninchaugust #aninchaugust2020 Sunday Prompt "Texture" suggested by @musa_the_sculptor. These are macro photos of 0.5mm 2B mechanical pencil leads, the same ones I have been using for all my pencil drawings for the last few years. I thought it's appropriate, to make the subject of the photo art related. And since Musa does sculptures in pencil leads, I thought it fitting to shoot the texture of the lead. The macro pictures were shot with my 200D camera, with reversed 18-55mm lens, inspired by a recent post by @navaneeth_unnikrishnan. A wider focal length gives you more of a macro effect. There are reverse rings available that would allow you to fit the lens backwards on the camera, but since I don't have one of those, I simply turned the lens around, held it against the camera and then shot the pictures.Getting the focus right is a difficult task as even slight movement will make things go wildly out of focus, and you need as much light as you can give, for this (since you'll be holding the lens very close to the subject).I had put the camera in burst mode and shot around 240 photos for getting these few usable ones. You can swipe to see the behind the scenes. The weird expression was me concentrating and trying to get an in focus shot. There's also a picture in there of the 18-55mm lens that I've not used in years. That is the kit lens that came with my first DSLR, the Canon 550D, bought in April 2011, and hence is an older version of that lens.I wanted to do a sketch based on the theme as well, but wasn't able to do that in time. Well, I guess it will have to be a first of September entry.Congratulations, @tiny.sharma10 and @meghalika for a very successful round of #aninchaugust this year, and for the great virtual meetup that happened yesterday.#canon #200d #1855mm #macro #macrophotography #macrowithshannu#pixel2xl #teampixel (for the photos of me)#karthikabhiram@instagram #hellofrom Hyderabad India #hellohyderabad #thisweekoninstagram #bornoninstagram

Entry for @aninchaugust #aninchaugust #aninchaugust2020 Sunday Prompt "Texture" suggested by @musa_the_sculptor. This is a macro shot of brown bread with Maggi Hot & Sweet Tomato Chilli Sauce (it's different — 80s kids will remember this line). This was shot with my Canon 200D, with the 18-55mm lens reversed. I saw a set of amazing macro photos shot this way, by @navaneeth_unnikrishnan and I thought I would try it too. I have also shot another set of pictures that is more in line with the #aninchaugust theme, and I will post that soon. #canon #200d #capturedoncanon #1855mm #karthikabhiram @nestle.india @maggiindia

Avengers: Infinity War (2018)Directed by Anthony and Joe RussoSaddened to hear of the demise of actor Chadwick Boseman today. I won't claim to know that much about him, as I've only seen his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies — starting with "Captain America: Civil War" in 2016, then "Black Panther" and "Avengers: Infinity War" in 2018 and "Avengers: Endgame" in 2019. He certainly had a screen presence as T'Challa, the King of Wakanda. He was battling cancer, and filmed multiple movies over the last 4 years in between surgeries. That must have been extraordinarily demanding. As someone who has more than a passing interest in exercise, I can't even imagine how difficult it must have been for him to get into the shape that he did, for those movies and do all the physically demanding things. Seeing some videos about him, and hearing what his costars have to say about him, it seems like he was a genuinely good person and influenced others positively.I drew him as T'Challa from "Infinity War", during the scene when Thanos's army invades Wakanda, and where he and the Wakandan army chant 'Yibambe' (hold strong). We saw this bit in the trailer, and I won't deny, when this scene came on, I was chanting too.The drawing was done with Bic ballpoint pen and Gelly Roll pen on A5 sketchbook in one square inch size, for @aninchaugust #aninchaugust #aninchaugust2020 as well. The month has gone by very fast — August is coming to an end soon.As a background in this photo, I used my scanner — Canon CanoScan LiDE 110, that I've been using since 2011 for scanning my artwork.Swipe to see a scanned version and a slightly longer version of the video that I posted on Reels as well.#canon #200d #50mm #50mmphotography#teampixel#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#chadwickboseman#wakandaforever #blackpanther#tinysharma#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing#avengers #infinitywar#550 / 29-Aug-20
