[@inktober Day 31: Risk]Army of Thieves (2021)Directed by Matthias SchweighöferFor the Inktober prompt "Risk", it seemed fitting to do a sketch based on a heist movie!"Army of Thieves" is a prequel to Zack Snyder's zombie action film, "Army of the Dead" which was released on Netflix a few months ago. I enjoyed that film a lot, so, was looking forward to this film, which was released a couple of days back."Army of Thieves" begins in Germany at the time of the outbreak of the zombie apocalypse from "Army of the Dead". This prequel is about the safecracker character Ludwig Dieter a.k.a. Sebastian (played by Matthias Schweighöfer), who is recruited by Gwendoline (Nathalie Emmanuel) to join a team, aiming to pull off three heists in Europe. Each of the heists will involve cracking a safe, based on one of Richard Wagner's operas — Das Rheingold, Die Walküre and Siegfried (the safe that is central to the story of "Army of the Dead" would be the fourth in the series, Götterdämmerung).I enjoyed the movie greatly! The character of Ludwig could have easily been an annoying one in "Army of the Dead", but the way he was written and performed, I felt he was very likeable. The same worked in this film as well, which has a much lighter tone. I thought it was engaging and well done, and each of the heists tried to show something different rather than the team just breaking into each location and cracking the safe. I liked the visuals in the movie (cinematography by Bernhard Jasper) and the music (Hans Zimmer and Steve Mazzaro). Overall a very entertaining movie. Perhaps it could have been tightened up a bit (slightly overlong at 127 min?) but I was along for the ride and didn't mind. I'm looking forward to the animated series follow-up, "Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas", and the sequel, whose title Zack Snyder just annnounced, "Planet of the Dead".I drew Ludwig from the movie, the drawing was done with ballpoint pen on A5 notebook. [@inktober Day 26: Connect]The Cabin in the Woods (2012)Directed by Drew GoddardFor the @inktober prompt "Connect" I was thinking what to draw, and then the idea came to draw something based on this movie, which makes references (hence the connect) to multiple horror movies and tropes. It begins like a traditional horror movie would, with a group of 5 college students going to a cabin in the woods (the title is a reference to "The Evil Dead"), later on being attacked by zombies, but there are forces manipulating the events happening. It's a very fun and unconventional horror movie, mixing in a good dose of humour and does deliver on the violence and blood too.I drew Jodelle Ferland as Patience Buckner, the girl from the zombie Redneck family menacing our main characters. Jodelle Ferland was also in the movie adaptation of "Silent Hill". The drawing was done with ballpoint pen on A5 notebook. Symmetry and ultra wide angle photos at @prasadsmultiplx. Most of these are from last night, couple are from a few weekends ago. There’s one shot from the Large Screen auditorium which was once the largest IMAX screen in India. [@inktober Day 23: Leak]Deadpool (2016) / Test Footage 2014Directed by Tim Miller"Hello! My name is pool of the death."Leaked footage that got a movie made — the "Deadpool" movies were very successful but due to their being aimed at adults, it wasn't an easy road to get the first movie made. As I read, a test footage clip was leaked at a Comic Con event in 2014, and the resulting fan interest actually convinced the studio to greenlight the movie. Some say that Ryan Reynolds was behind the leak! The test footage clip was apparently almost entirely CGI and it's essentially the opening scene of the actual movie. I drew Deadpool from the test footage clip (YouTube), the drawing was done with ballpoint pen on A5 notebook. Swipe to see a scan and also an in-progress video.@instagram has allowed users to upload posts from desktop now, and I initially wanted to post this from computer. However, I wasn't able to "Add collaborator" from the web interface, and some of the adjustments (notably, sharpening) aren't available. So, I'm making this post from phone only as usual. This will still come in useful when I have pictures shot on camera, and I want to post them directly from computer after editing in Lightroom. Typing posts on a proper keyboard is also a nice thing to have (this was still typed on computer only — I copy the post and paste it in Telegram and copy from there into Instagram).#canon #200d #50mm@inktober #inktober #inktober2021 #inktober2021leak#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing #ballpointpenart#deadpool #testfootage #leak #ryanreynolds#619 / 23-Oct-21

Sun in the bulb from a few weekends ago, at the meetup organised by @artartistofficial. I posted this on Story today, as a response to this “Add Yours” Story sticker. I thought I’ll post the photo on the Feed as well. This particular Sticker type is not yet available in India. But those who come across this on Story, please do jump on the bandwagon as you’ll get more Story views 😀 Thank you @shrusti_mohanty @tiny.sharma10 @jvk_polaroids on whose Stories I saw this Sticker! @apple #iphone12mini #shotoniphone #sunset #karthikabhiram #trending

[@inktober Day 17: Collide]The Batman (2022)Directed by Matt Reeves"What does a liar do when he is dead? He lies still."Yesterday, the DC Fandome event happened (you could watch it on the website or stream it on YouTube). There were a bunch of reveals that happened about new DC properties (comics, TV shows, video games, movies).Last year, we got our first look at "Zack Snyder's Justice League" (the long awaited Snyder Cut), "The Suicide Squad", and a very early look at Matt Reeves' "The Batman". I believe, at that time, the movie was only 25% or 30% done but the first trailer was really interesting, set to Nirvana's "Something in the Way". The quote I mentioned above is from a card seen in that trailer, which was decoded by @newrockstars.This year, there was some "Aquaman 2" and "Black Adam" stuff revealed, but I wasn't a big fan of either "Aquaman" or "Shazam!" and have no background of the characters so I wasn't as excited. Since I liked James Gunn's "The Suicide Squad", the trailer for the show "The Peacemaker" starring John Cena was interesting. But, the two most exciting parts this year for me were, we got an early look at "The Flash", which will feature Michael Keaton as the version of the Batman that he played in the 1989 movie (which is glimpsed in the teaser footage). And at the very end of the Live event, we got to see the full trailer for "The Batman" (which has completed filming now and is due for release in March next year).I drew a shot from the trailer for the @inktober prompt "Collide". Now it's a stretch but I related the word to this movie, since Batman is going to face off against the Riddler and hence "collide". I drew the coffee cup shot from the very beginning of the trailer. The movie looks dark, epic and action packed! The drawing was done with ballpoint pen on A5 notebook. Swipe to see a scan and a very early stage of the drawing.@thebatman @mattreevesla@apple #iphone12mini #shotoniphone@inktober #inktober #inktober2021 #inktober2021helmet#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing #ballpointpenart#thebatman #riddler #dcfandome#618 / 17-Oct-21

[@inktober Day 15: Helmet]The Suicide Squad (2021)Directed by James GunnFor the @inktober prompt "Helmet" I thought of John Cena's character Peacemaker from James Gunn's "The Suicide Squad", as he wears a shiny helmet and I thought it would be interesting to draw that. There is one scene in the movie where a fight scene is shown reflected in the helmet, but since there it's seen from the back, I decided to just draw his face instead. The drawing was done with Bic ballpoint pen on A5 notebook. Swipe to see a scan and a couple of in-progress video clips. The last few days I had been very busy so didn't do Inktober sketches, let's see how many more I'm able to do this month. Today (16th) is also the day of the DC FanDome event, where we are going to get a new trailer for "The Batman" and I guess some update or a trailer on the "Peacemaker" show.@johncena @jamesgunn @thesuicidesquad@apple #iphone12mini #shotoniphone@inktober #inktober #inktober2021 #inktober2021helmet#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing #ballpointpenart#thesuicidesquad #johncena #thepeacemaker #dcfandome#617 / 16-Oct-21

𝐒𝐄𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 • 𝟏𝟎 𝐎𝐜𝐭 𝟐𝟏 — As I'd posted on Stories, I was one of the Artists exhibiting works at the "Seher India Art & Music Festival" on Sunday. Congrats to the organisers, artists and bands for making it a wonderful event! I had a great experience being a part of it, though, it was really tiring since I was there from around 9:30 AM and only returned home at around 11:30 PM. So that's why it has taken time for me to post about it.Though I didn't get to personally meet all the artists, I did go through all the other art stalls and saw all the displayed works by so many talented artist friends. It was lovely to have @rad_art_1, @saltandsambar and @distracted.boy as my immediate stall neighbours and awesome company! As with previous similar events, I had prints of my artwork available for purchase and some of my sketchbooks on display so that people could look at the original drawings. I had also made an updated visiting card design and managed to fit 10 of my artworks in it, as a giveaway to everyone who visited my stall. I was happy to have given away more than a hundred visiting cards. Thanks to everyone who visited for the kind appreciation and support!Thought I brought my camera it was a really busy day, and also due to the mixed indoor lighting, I ended up taking pictures with phone only. I'll post 2 or 3 sets of pictures from the event. This is the second set with tall aspect ratio pictures.@seher.eknayishuruaat @abrowngirlbasket @masterclassartacademy @greasemonkey.hyd@apple #iphone12mini #shotoniphone #karthikabhiram #seher #seheronoct10th
