Entry for @mangopenciler2.0’s #drawwithmango challenge to do a self portrait as a human-animal hybrid, inspired by the show @sweettoothnetflix. About a month back I posted my first entry for the challenge and I thought of doing one more. Now rather than just do another drawing based on my own face I had this idea to use @faceapp’s AI generated female face as a reference. Maybe a weird idea but I thought it’s something different so I went ahead. Also this time I was not able to think of anything great for the animal part so I just added these antlers like one sees in the show promos (I have not watched it). What’s the flower on the page, you may ask — so, @rad_art_1 and her dad have started an Art Academy at Hyderabad (@masterclassartacademy) where they are offering offline as well as online art classes. On Saturday I had the opportunity to be part of a demo session and drew the rose as part of that. Both the drawings are done with ballpoint pen on A5 notebook from @themedschoolstudent.store. Swipe to see a scan. In the scan I moved the rose so that it’s centred, I think it makes for an interesting composition. The last slide has some of Faceapp’s scarily realistic outputs. The AI keeps getting better and better! #shotoniphone #iphone12mini #vsco #karthikabhiram #sweettoothfanart #sweettooth #ballpointpen #ballpointpenart #ballpointpendrawing

New acquisition — iPhone 12 Mini! You could say this is a belated birthday gift for myself. I had been considering getting a new phone last year itself but didn't do it, now, got this one. My Pixel 2 XL from 2018 is absolutely fine and right now, my SIM card is still in that phone. I'm planning to use both phones. The new one, more for video. #canon #200d #iphone12mini #karthikabhiram

Pizza and tea! Yesterday I was part of an Instagram Live session hosted by @travellingwiththelens where we talked about all things Instagram and building a community. The discussion is there on her page on IGTV. During the session I also drew one of her pizza pictures as an impromptu challenge and that's what you see here. @mangopenciler2.0 and @artbyamala also drew the same picture. Swipe here to see a coloured version on the scanned image and the scan as is. #pixel2xl #teampixel #karthikabhiram #pizza #tea #flatlayindia #zuvamart

The Suicide Squad (2021)Directed by James Gunn"Who knows why mad men do what they do."It's about a month to go, for James Gunn's "The Suicide Squad" to be released. Apart from the initial adult audience targeted Red Band trailer, there were a couple of other trailers released recently, which serve to build the excitement for the movie. I personally am really looking forward to it, this is an R-rated film and apparently, the studio didn't interfere in the making, which means this is an unadulterated James Gunn film. With his "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies for Marvel being really entertaining, it will be interesting to see how the "team up" approach would work when applied to the DC Universe.I really loved this one frame of @margotrobbie as Harley Quinn from the movie and wanted to draw it, so I did. This was done with 0.5mm 4B mechanical pencil on A5 notebook from @themedschoolstudent.store. Swipe to see a scanned version.Despite what anyone may say I really liked 2016's "Suicide Squad" though I actually expected that to be R-rated, and I really loved Harley from the movie (and I did a few drawings of her too). "Birds of Prey" was notable for nice action scenes too. This appears to be a sequel and a "soft reboot" as well. Let's see how it turns out.#pixel2xl #teampixel#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#pencilart #pencildrawing #thesuicidesquad #harleyquinn #margotrobbie@jamesgunn @thesuicidesquad@instagram #hellofrom Hyderabad India #hellohyderabad #thisweekoninstagram#bornoninstagram#596 / 8-Jul-21

#CreateWithKarthik — Meme Based Art — Obama giving Obama a Medal"What it feels like to participate in your own Art Challenge" Another entry for my challenge to create meme based art, is a drawing of this popular meme. There's not a lot of history behind this — apparently this was a photo of then US President Barack Obama giving a medal to rockstar Bruce Springsteen. An unknown user Photoshopped it to make it look like he was giving a medal to himself. This picture never fails to bring a smile to my face, and I was laughing while drawing this too, very happy with my idea! The drawing was done with 0.5 mm 4B mechanical pencil on A7 size @menorah.stationery sketchbook. Swipe to see a scanned version and also a 1 min video clip in real time, while I was drawing this. I will probably use that in a Reel too.#pixel2xl #teampixel #karthikabhiram#meme #memes #memesimade#obamamemes #pencil #pencilart #pencildrawing#miniatureart

#CreateWithKarthik — Meme Based Art — Hide the Pain Harold / András AratóMy first sketch submission for my own art challenge to create meme based art, is this very well known face. This is András Arató, a 75 year old Hungarian retired Electrical Engineer, who went viral as a meme in 2012. Stock photos of his were used world over in memes, and he came to be known as "Hide the Pain Harold". He talks about this in a very nice TEDx talk, you could look it up on YouTube. From that video, he seems like a kind gentleman, who embraced the fame that comes with becoming a meme, and tried to be a positive influence to all.The drawing was done with multi colour ballpoint pen on A7 size @menorah.stationery sketchbook. Swipe to see a scanned version.#canon #200d #karthikabhiram#meme #memes #memesimade#hidethepainharold #andrasarato#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing #ballpointpenart#miniatureart
