They Live (1988)Directed by John CarpenterBeen busy with work past few weeks and hence not posting as often. This is a sketch for the @inktober #inktober #inktober2020 prompt word "Radio". The storyline of "They Live" involves aliens posing as the upper class, keeping humans under control by broadcasting a signal that lulls them into obedience, with subliminal messaging all around. It's an interesting concept fashioned into an entertaining action-science fiction movie. The aliens are portrayed as ghoulish skeleton like humanoids. Apparently it was stunt coordinator Jeff Imada that played most of the aliens when they appear on screen.A small ballpoint pen drawing, made with Bic multi colour pen. I actually started the drawing for the prompt "Wisp" before this, but since that is taking time to complete, drew this on the same page. The Suicide Squad (2021)Directed by James GunnIt's October and that also means it's @inktober #inktober, where anyone interested is encouraged to make ink drawings during the month. There is a prompt list on the Inktober page, and like past years, I'm doing sketches this year as well. I actually did the complete challenge in 2016, with 31 drawings, one for each day (all of that you can check on my @dailymoviesketch art account), but in subsequent years, due to being busy at work, I did how many ever sketches I could. I did 17 last year.Let's see how many I am able to do this time. Like before, my preferred medium to use would be ballpoint pen. Here's the first sketch, for the prompt word "fish", a drawing of King Shark from James Gunn's upcoming "The Suicide Squad". Drew this with Bic multi colour ballpoint pen. Swipe for a scanned version.I am looking forward to the movie, we got to see a preview of it at the #dcfandome event some weeks ago. It has a huge roster of characters and a great cast, and James Gunn is great at making a film with an ensemble cast. So let's see how it is.Also, in the picture is something I placed an order for months ago, and received now only. It's a CD of 4 tracks inspired on "Mission: Impossible". In 1996, I had bought an audio tape of this and listened to it often. Track 4 was a piece of music not based on the original Lalo Schifrin theme. I was looking for an MP3 of it all these years, to no avail. Some months back I found a listing for an actual disc of this online, and ordered it. You can search for "Peaker Limits Mission Impossible".I haven't listened to it yet, since it's been years since I've used an optical drive! I have an external DVD drive, must look for it, connect it up and listen to this.
