Sacred Games 2 (2019)Directed by Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj GhaywanI have been really busy with work the past few weeks so have only been able to dedicate time for a few sketches for @tiny.sharma10 and @meghalika's #AnInchAugust2019 challenge. I'm watching Sacred Games Season 2 on Netflix now, and am on Episode 5. Liking it, I did a regular size drawing of Saif Ali Khan and now here's a one inch square sketch of Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Ganesh Gaitonde from the show. This was down with the @ns1pen and Gelly Roll pen on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned.@nawazuddin._siddiqui @netflix @netflix_in#DailyMovieSketch #karthikabhiram#sacredgames2 #sacredgames #nawazuddinsiddiqui #ganeshgaitonde#ahambrahmasmi#AnInchAugust2019 #AnInchAugust@ns1pen #ns1pen#ballpointpen #inksketch #miniatureart#466 / 25-Aug-19

Sacred Games 2 (2019)Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane and Neeraj GhaywanI started watching Season 2 of "Sacred Games" yesterday and it's really good so far (I'm on Episode 3 now). It's also good to see a more adult oriented show thanks to Netflix, since it's a very irritating thing that our censor board cuts movies despite rating them "A". Once I finish watching it I'll write my thoughts about it. It's a very well made show.I drew Saif Ali Khan as Sartaj Singh from the show. The drawing was done with multi colour ballpoint pen and Gelly Roll pen on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned.#dailymoviesketch#karthikabhiram #sacredgames #netflix #sartajsingh #saifalikhan #nawazuddinsiddiqui #sacredgames2#ballpointpen #penandink #inksketch #465 / 15-Aug-19

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (1983)Produced by FilmationSince @tiny.sharma10 had been doing sketches based on nostalgic cartoon shows for her #AnInchAugust2019 entries I thought I'd do one as well, based on a beloved TV show from my childhood days! I drew Skeletor from the show. The drawing was done in multi colour ballpoint pen and Gelly Roll pen on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned.#dailymoviesketch #heman #hemanandthemastersoftheuniverse #mastersoftheuniverse#ballpointpen #miniatureart #AnInchAugust #karthikabhiram#464 / 15-Aug-19

Stranger Things 3 (2019)Created by The Duffer BrothersI already wrote about the third season of “Stranger Things”, which I watched recently and enjoyed a lot. @sripriyatham and @the_onyxmethod did their artworks of @milliebobbybrown as Eleven from the show, now, here’s mine. This is drawn in one inch square size, for @tiny.sharma10 and @meghalika’s #AnInchAugust #AnInchAugust2019 challenge. Brainscan (1994)Directed by John FlynnRecalling the 1990s! This horror-thriller kind of slipped under the radar after its release and is not that well remembered now. But it's a pretty decent movie! Edward Furlong stars as Mike, a teenager who is into video games, and when he gets his hands on the latest interactive experience ‘Brainscan’ and boots it up, the mysterious Trickster emerges and Mike finds himself becoming involved in murder. This was shown on TV several years ago which is where I first saw it, and I also forgot about it till recently. So I watched it now. The movie is on YouTube.I drew T Ryder Smith as Trickster from the movie. The drawing is sized one inch square, for @tiny.sharma10 and @meghalika's #AnInchAugust #AnInchAugust2019 challenge. This was drawn with ballpoint pens (@ns1pen and Bic multi colour pens) and Gelly Roll pen on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned.#DailyMovieSketch #karthikabhiram#brainscan #trickster #miniatureart#ballpointpen #sketch #penandink #inksketch#462 / 7-Aug-19

Not part of the #DailyMovieSketch drawings but I thought I'll share this all the same. I was watching the 2018 remake “Suspiria” last night. It was a strange slow paced but atmospheric movie. Not for everyone but I did like it. I did these very quick rough drawings while watching. #google #pixel2xl #teampixel #karthikabhiram #suspiria

Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw a.k.a. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)Directed by David LeitchThis "Fast & Furious" spinoff movie has Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) teaming up to stop supervillain Brixton (Idris Elba), who is after a virus. I watched the movie last night (in 3D – why on Earth does this movie need to be in 3D?) and enjoyed it greatly!By all means, this is a film that shouldn't work. The story is thin, the movie seems very cartoonish (a cybernetically enhanced villain?) and silly from the trailers (which it actually is) and the action seems totally over the top.But it does work – for three primary reasons in my opinion. The villain, no matter how unbelievable, is played by a good actor. The two leads are so charismatic that you enjoy watching their banter and bickering, and you don't really mind the thin story. Most importantly, the action scenes, no matter how absurd, are treated seriously and filmed in a way that it's clear to follow, and the physical fight scenes are done really well (this attribute, I would guess is due to the director). So, despite the over-the-top nature of it all, the audience is sold. This oldschool buddy-cop movie updated for 2019 is very entertaining! I thought the first two thirds was absolutely kickass, I had a grin on my face throughout. It kind of dragged a bit and overstayed its welcome in the third act, but that can be excused. It definitely was much better than I expected, and I had a grand time. Highly recommended! Fans of David Leitch's "Deadpool 2" would find a couple of nice surprises here as well.I drew Hobbs & Shaw from the movie, this drawing was done with 0.5mm 2B pencil on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned. I usually convert the entire drawing to B&W when scanned, but this time, left the yellowish tint of the paper intact for the skin tones. I think this gives an interesting look! The drawing's dimensions are one inch square – for @tiny.sharma10 and @meghalika's challenge #AnInchAugust #AnInchAugust2019.#dailymoviesketch #karthikabhiram#fastandfurious #hobbsandshaw#mikeoxmaul#pencil #miniatureart#461 / 4-Aug-19

[#DailyMovieSketch × #AnInchAugust × #InfinitySagaArt]Avengers: Endgame (2019)Directed by Joe and Anthony RussoCongratulations to Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige and the Russo Brothers — “Avengers: Endgame” is now the top grossing film, earning more than $2.7 billion worldwide. It’s a fantastic movie, and I have not spared it from praise, and have done multiple sketches based on it and the other films in the Infinity Saga. Marvel has announced their plans for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stretching to 2021.@tiny.sharma10 announced the return of #AnInchAugust, which is a challenge for one to make artworks during the month of August, that fit in one square inch. For the 2019 version, even photography can be submitted.Last year I did a few sketches for this, and intend to do so this year as well. I would be very busy with work in the month of August though, so will try to do what I can. This is an early submission for the challenge. A drawing of Thanos from the scene where he tells Corvus Glaive to “Rain Fire”, to which Glaive says “But Sir, our troops!” and Thanos replies “Just do it!” This has been used in memes as well! This was drawn with 0.5mm 2B mechanical pencil, @prismacolor pencils on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned. I recently got a Tombow Mono Eraser, which I also used for this drawing.#dailymoviesketch #karthikabhiram#avengers #endgame #avengersendgame #thanos#rainfire #butsirourtroops #justdoit #meme #dankmemes#pencil #pencilart #miniatureart #prismacolor#aninchaugust2019#460 / 28-Jul-19

Dark: Season 2 (2019)Created by Baran bo Odar and Jantje FrieseA few weeks ago, I watched the entirety of Season 2 of the Netflix show “Dark”. I absolutely loved the first season, I thought it was very well done, introducing us to multiple families and characters in the town of Winden, and a plot involving time travel in three different eras — present day, the 80s and the 50s. Season 2 continues the storyline and introduces new characters and new story elements. I was amazed by the way they worked in new events and characters around what they already established in Season 1. It’s a credit to the superb writing on the show, deftly balancing so many characters and timelines and still keeping it engaging always.Like with Season 1, the show’s production values are fantastic, I loved the gorgeous cinematography and mood. The acting is excellent by all and I actually felt the tone and pacing for Season 2 was even better. There is quite a bit to keep track of, you can’t just casually watch this show. But if you do give it the required attention, it’s very rewarding. If you haven’t seen this show I highly recommend you check it out. It’s a must-watch for science fiction fans. I drew the mysterious character Adam from the show. The drawing was done with multi colour ballpoint pen and Gelly Roll pen on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned.#dailymoviesketch #karthikabhiram#dark #darknetflix #darkseason2 #adam #noah #sicmundus#ballpointpen #ballpoint #pen #penandink #inksketch#459 / 27-Jul-19

It's been years since I saw the original. It is such a good movie. Emotional, dramatic, funny, with great songs. I drew Simba from the opening of the movie, this was drawn with multi colour ballpoint pen on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned.#DailyMovieSketch #karthikabhiram #ballpointpen #thelionking #disney#458 / 21-Jul-19
