𝟓 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐃𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐘 𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐄 𝐒𝐊𝐄𝐓𝐂𝐇 — 4 April 2016 was when I started an account exclusively for movie related sketches — @dailymoviesketch. When the account started, I actually drew and posted sketches every day for about 4 months. Later on it became one sketch every few days. Last year, I moved to posting all my content on this account only (even the movie sketches).However, all through, I've been regularly drawing and posting sketches, balancing this with my work schedule (which has only got more hectic year on year). I have been numbering the sketches from the very beginning and have continued the count even when posting here — and this current one is sketch number 580!So, that's around 100+ sketches that I have done every year, give or take!I'm happy to hit this milestone and am grateful for all the support from everyone who's following my work! My art has definitely improved a lot thanks to drawing regularly, that's also something I am really grateful for.Here's to more (and better) drawings in the future!–Kill Bill Vol 2 (2004)Directed by Quentin TarantinoMost of the yearly anniversaries of #dailymoviesketch have involved a Quentin Tarantino movie in some way or the other. For the fifth one I wanted to draw something related to 5, one option was to draw Jake Peralta from "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" saying "Now Number 5" from the cold open scene where a criminal lineup sings Backstreet Boys' "I Want it That Way". The Office (2005-2013)Developed by Greg DanielsAfter completing "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" the next show I said I'd watch, to the friends who'd recommended it, is "The Office". I am now on Season 3 Episode 2 of the show and am enjoying it. I drew Steve Carell as Michael Scott from the show. What a character and what a performance! I remember doing this twice and because of that, also had collected a good number of bottle caps. Completely forgot about them till now, and so took some pictures. Mortal Kombat (2021)Directed by Simon McQuoidThe trailer for the upcoming "Mortal Kombat" reboot was released a few days ago and it looked really good! It was a red band trailer (meaning the trailer itself could have uncensored kontent from the movie it was advertising), so it didn't hold back on the violence and we got to see some kreative bloodshed. Unlike the 1995 adaptation which was a PG-13 film, this one embraces its R rating, with a lot of bloody violence and apparently they included the fatalities from the games (the trailer ends with Kano ripping out a fellow kombatant's heart and saying "Kano wins. You fuckin' beauty"). Looking forward to watching the movie!I drew Joe Taslim (who you might remember from "The Raid" and "The Night Komes for Us") as Sub-Zero from the movie. There were three Art Stalls at the event, it was great to exhibit along with fellow artists @dear.artsie and @rishipavan. Music performances, Open Mic and other stalls were there too. ART EVENT ALERT! I'm exhibiting my artworks this coming Saturday, 20-Feb-21, at "The Flea Affair", organised by @umedia.online. The venue is @chaidukaan, Banjara Hills and you can get tickets for the event on @meraeventsindia. There are stalls/open mic and workshops planned as part of the event so do drop in if you can!
