๐๐พ๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐๐๐๐๐ โ I scanned the few recent drawings that I've done and am posting them as a set. All of these were done with ballpoint pen and Gelly Roll pen on A6 or A7 sketchbook. All of these were done based on prompts of @100daysofsketchingofficial. For a few days I had done daily drawings but felt that wasn't sustainable for me, so I'll go back to my usual pace. I'll still try to do more frequent drawings though. In this set โโข George Clooney as Seth Gecko from "From Dusk Till Dawn"โข Baby Yoda from "The Mandalorian"โข The Quick Stop store from "Clerks"โข ED-209 from Paul Verhoeven's "RoboCop"โข Neo from "The Matrix" waking up in the real world#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#thematrix #clerks #starwars #starwarsday #babyyoda#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing #ballpointpenart@instagram #hellofrom Hyderabad India #hellohyderabad @keshrt #100daysofsketching #100days2021

๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐พ๐ โ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ โ I made one more thing based on an artwork of mine, this time it's a fake book cover. I had drawn Steve Carell as Michael Scott from "The Office" and since I had earlier done a fake poster based on the fictional movie "Threat Level Midnight" by the character, I thought it's only right to attempt making a cover for the book by him. "Somehow I Manage" is the title and this is a cover. It's a little wider in size (that's what she said) than paperback dimensions should be, I only checked that later after finishing the image. Next thing I should attempt was suggested by @_mrin, an album cover for Straight Outta Scranton featuring Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute! I will see if I can make that sometime. #karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch #theoffice #theofficeus #michaelscott #stevecarell #somehowimanage

The Matrix (1999)Directed by The WachowskisFor the #100daysofsketching challenge prompt "Waking", I thought of the scene from "The Matrix" where Keanu Reeves's character is made to realise that he is living in a simulation and he is made to wake up in the real world. It seems in the original script, the machines enslave all the humans and put them in the Matrix so that they are used as a neural network for computing power. However apparently it was thought that audiences may not understand this and it was changed so that humans are used as a power source for the machines after we scorched the skies. The movie of course is a classic and though one may find flaws one can't deny the influence it has had on cinema! We're apparently getting "The Matrix 4" this year, let's see how it is.I drew Neo once he's woken up into the real world, the drawing was done with multi colour ballpoint pen and Gelly Roll pen on A7 @menorah.stationery sketchbook. I have a bunch of drawings that I am yet to scan, maybe I will do that today and post.#pixel2xl #teampixel#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#thematrix #neo #keanureeves#100daysofsketching #100days2021 @100daysofsketchingofficial @keshrt#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing#591 / 9-May-21

One more random set of selfies from last few days. I'm just posting these since I've only been putting up art related stuff for quite a while, so thought I'd break the pattern. Also, I am about to move off some pictures from phone to external hard disk, so posting these (last 2 videos especially) before I do that. #pixel2xl #teampixel #karthikabhiram

Clerks. (1994)Directed by Kevin Smith#589 / 5-May-21RoboCop (1987)Directed by Paul Verhoeven#590 / 6-May-21For the #100daysofsketching challenge prompt "Store", I drew the store that the movie "Clerks." takes place in. Apparently, the crew was allowed to film inside at night only, which is why they came up with the idea that the shutter was jammed, to explain why there is no sunlight in the store. I haven't seen the movie in years but I remember it was fun, and an indie hit from Kevin Smith. Compared to the low budget B&W shot film, the sequel, "Clerks II" looked far more expensive. I loved the sequel as well and think it's very sweet (one might consider it a romantic comedy even, and while that's not the type of movie I generally watch, it was really nice). For the prompt "Second", I thought of the scene from "RoboCop" where the corporation OCP unveils their Law Enforcement Droid Series 209 at a board meeting. When a member is asked to point a gun at ED-209, it says to drop the weapon and in an evil tone, "you have 20 seconds to comply". What follows is one of the more memorable and violent scenes in the movie, with director Paul Verhoeven's trademark blood and splatter. The satirical and smart script, with terrific visual effects (ED-209 is achieved through the use of stop motion animation), extreme violence and a fantastic Basil Poledouris music score, makes the movie a classic. The Clerks drawing was done with ballpoint pen and Gelly Roll pen on A6 sketchbook, the RoboCop one is on A7 @menorah.stationery sketchbook. #pixel2xl #teampixel#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#robocop #clerks#100daysofsketching #100days2021 @100daysofsketchingofficial @keshrt#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing

๐๐๐ฃ๐ฃ๐ฌ ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐ช๐๐ฅ๐ฆ ๐๐๐ฌ โ May the Force Be With You!The Mandalorian Season 2 (2020)Created by Jon FavreauFor the #100daysofsketching challenge prompt "Flow", and also since today is Star Wars Day (May the 4th), I did a "Star Wars" based sketch โ with the 'flow' referring to any character that manipulates The Force in the franchise.I would have probably drawn one of the Force sensitive characters from the movies, but ever since "The Mandalorian", the go-to Star Wars character to draw for me, will be Baby Yoda. This is from the episode where the little alien's name is revealed (he is not actually Baby Yoda, rather from the same species as Master Yoda). The drawing was done with multi colour ballpoint pen and Gelly Roll pen on A6 sketchbook. #pixel2xl #teampixel#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#starwarsday #starwars #maythe4thbewithyou#babyyoda #babyyodamemes #grogu#100daysofsketching #100days2021 @100daysofsketchingofficial @keshrt#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing#588 / 4-May-21

From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)Directed by Robert RodriguezFor the #100daysofsketching challenge prompt "Ramble", I did a sketch from this movie. This is a drawing of George Clooney as Seth Gecko from the scene where he says the line "OK ramblers, let's get rambling". I love "From Dusk Till Dawn", it's such an entertaining and stylish movie. This line is actually also used in screenwriter Quentin Tarantino's first movie "Reservoir Dogs" where the character Joe Cabot says this. But between the two fantastic movies, I picked this one because star power! The drawing was done with ballpoint pen on A6 sketchbook. Swipe to see a short video while I was shading this. I will post a scan of the drawing later (maybe I'll wait till I have 9 drawings and then post scans together).#pixel2xl #teampixel#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#fromdusktilldawn #georgeclooney #quentintarantino #sethgecko#100daysofsketching #100days2021 @100daysofsketchingofficial @keshrt#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing#587 / 3-May-21

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)Directed by John R LeonettiFor the #100daysofsketching challenge prompt "Misfire", I did a sketch from this movie.Paul W S Anderson's 1995 adaptation of "Mortal Kombat" was very successful and is known as one of the best videogame based movies. While not without its flaws, it is well done and very entertaining. And so, a sequel was soon put into production with a bigger budget. However, "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation" was inferior in every way, and it took several years for us to see "Mortal Kombat" on the big screen again.I have watched videos that point out to the reasons for "Annihilation" not being good, essentially, they promoted people who worked on the earlier film to higher positions, which didn't work (the 1995 film's director of photography became the director here) due to their inexperience and the rushed schedule. Also, the film looks much cheaper than the previous movie, though it had close to double the budget. The story is all over the place, it feels as if they were making it up as they went along, the dialogues are laughable, the visual effects look unfinished, the way some of the costumes look make you feel that cosplayers could probably do a better job. This may be nostalgia talking but I still think the movie is worth watching, it has some nice music and there is a slightly different version of the "Techno Syndrome" theme song that's really good. The credits run for unusually long (11 or 12 min).I drew Scorpion from the movie, he is in only one scene and his random inclusion makes no sense because the character was supposed to have died in the previous movie. He kidnaps Kitana and yells "SUCKERS!". The drawing was done with multi colour ballpoint pen and Gelly Roll pen on A6 sketchbook. Swipe to see a scanned version.I have seen the 2021 "Mortal Kombat", and though it has several good things going for it, I personally felt disappointed. I felt the 1995 movie was more entertaining!#canon #5dmarkiii #50mm#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#mortalkombat #annihilation #100daysofsketching #100days2021 @100daysofsketchingofficial @keshrt#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing#586 / 2-May-21
