𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐞𝐬 • Some months ago, @hobbesandrory had posted a picture of his cats as they happened to recreate (unintentionally, or intentionally?) the classic Michelangelo fresco painting, "The Creation of Adam". I thought to make a sketch based on it, but didn't get around to it till now. This is a small sketch done with ballpoint pen on A5 Brustro sketchbook. Swipe to see a scan and also the original reference image.#karthikabhiram #ballpointpensketch #ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing

Doom with Voxels — Last month, there was a mod released for the original Doom game, where one person has replaced the monsters and items which are flat sprites in the original game, with models using voxels (volumetric pixels). Only the first Doom game's things are replaced this way I believe and not Doom II. I tried it yesterday and played one of my own levels for Doom with it. The best part is how they have kept the look of the models consistent with the original game. You can see a 3D type effect but it's not very different from the original. You have to play this with GZDoom. Here are some screenshots. I've cropped and edited them in VSCO. Also, I used freeze monsters occasionally, to take them.#karthikabhiram #Doom #voxels

Spider-Man: No Way Home Extended Version a.k.a. More Fun Stuff Version (2022)Directed by Jon WattsWatched the Extended Version or 'More Fun Stuff' Version of "Spider-Man: No Way Home" on Friday night. I didn't think it'll be released in theatres in Hyderabad but it was, so I booked a ticket and watched it.There are about 10 minutes worth of deleted scenes and extended shots added back into the movie here. I enjoyed the experience, but as I expected, the additional content didn't make a significant difference for me. In fact in a couple of cases, I think the scenes would have been deleted for tighter pacing and more consistent tone. There were a few nice scene extensions though, which I appreciated. Since the theatrical version released in December last year had a teaser for "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" after the credits, it's replaced with a new one here, which was interesting.Overall, I really enjoyed the experience, but that's because "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was already a very good movie to begin with (one of last year's best movies in my opinion). This extended cut has some nice additions but for me, it was primarily an opportunity to re-watch the movie. For most people, they could just stick with the original theatrical version. One of the earliest extended cuts of a movie that I watched was the "Special Edition" of "Aliens" (1986). I watched "Alien", "Aliens" and "Alien 3" on STAR Movies back in 1994/1995. And at that time, the version of "Aliens" which they showed was the 154 min extended edition rather than the 137 min theatrical cut. I had recorded it on a VHS tape and rewatched it many times, so, for me the 'correct' version of "Aliens" has always been the extended cut! I drew the three Spider-Men from the movie. By now, this is not really a spoiler since the movie has been out for many months, and also, the poster that Sony Pictures published for this re-release contained even more spoilers. A thumb rule one could typically follow is, if it's in the official marketing for the movie, it's not a spoiler. The drawing is done with Bic ballpoint pens on A5 Brustro sketchbook and you can swipe to see a scan.#694 / 3-Sep-22

I took the Metro from Raidurg Station to Ameerpet, and walked to PVR Central Mall Panjagutta from there. #karthikabhiram @samsungwithgalaxy #withgalaxy #makenightsepic #hellohyderabad

@aninchaugust × @karthikabhiram Roundup — Since 2018, I have been participating in this Art Challenge initiated by @tiny.sharma10 and @meghalika, where the idea is to create artworks within the space of an inch. I have always enjoyed it and my excitement for it is the same as it is for @inktober. This year, I've done 26 artworks (I think it's more than any previous year). Had a great time attending the #aninchaugust event on Sunday as well. Keep swiping on this post to see the works done this year and other related highlights. The last artwork here is of content creator @niharika_nm whose videos I enjoy!#aninchaugust #aninchaugust2022 #karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#pencilartwork #ballpointpen

Latest sketches for @aninchaugust — I have done 25 sketches so far, for this year's #aninchaugust challenge. I had earlier posted a collage of the first 16 drawings, here are the remaining 9. I am planning to do one more sketch and that post will round up the challenge for this year. The ones featured here are movie related sketches and other ones.• @arunvijayno1 as Rudra from the web series "Tamil Rockerz" which was quite entertaining and an interesting take on movie piracy in an action thriller mold• There was a bonus 11th episode of the show "The Sandman" released recently which contained two stories, this is a sketch of a crow from "Dream of a 1000 Cats", the character being voiced by Neil Gaiman• Gulab Jamun for the prompt 'delicious' suggested by @vamshibhasham• A shot from "Nope", a movie which I really enjoyed• Abhradeep Saha a.k.a. @angryrantman whose movie review videos I like, he has a unique presentation style and makes good points• Live drawing during 28-Aug's event, using the same reference as @quaintessential_, for the prompt 'reflections' suggested by @reshma_heartworks• The two maneating lions from the movie "The Ghost and the Darkness" which I rewatched after many years• @officialslystallone from the movie "Samaritan" which was quite good!Tamil Rockerz (2022)Directed by Arivazhagan#688 / 22-Aug-22The Sandman (2022)Developed by Neil Gaiman, David S Goyer, Allan Heinberg#689 / 25-Aug-22Nope (2022)Directed by Jordan Peele#690 / 27-Aug-22The Ghost and the Darkness (1996)Directed by Stephen Hopkins#691, #692 / 28-Aug-22Samaritan (2022)Directed by Julius Avery#693 / 31-Aug-22#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch #aninchaugust2022 #pencil #ballpointpen
