𝐘𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐚 • I liked the movie a lot! Samantha stars as Yashoda, a young woman in need of money who agrees to become a surrogate mother. She is taken to a surrogacy facility but gradually realises that something sinister is lurking beneath the surface. I love these thrillers where the protagonist is trapped in a facility or guarded place and the cracks begin to show (Gore Verbinski's A Cure for Wellness was the most recent of its type I saw), and so I had a great time with it. The movie kept throwing a lot of ideas our way in the first half and it was engaging always. After the interval mark, I felt it got a bit rushed and predictable, since if you've seen enough of this type of movie, you'll figure out where they are heading with it. You have to be on board and willing to suspend disbelief a bit. Samantha carried the movie really well in the lead role, the action scenes were good too. It was very entertaining and I enjoyed it greatly. #karthikabhiram #Reels #trendingaudio #samantharuthprabhu #yashoda

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)Directed by Ryan CooglerI watched this movie twice over the last few days, first time at AMB Cinemas on Friday night, and second time yesterday at PVR Panjagutta with family. There was lots to like about this movie! I think it's certainly a cut above some of the other movies and shows from Phase 4 of the MCU (which has been extremely uneven). I liked that for the most part they kept it serious, the strongest aspects for me were the acting and the world building. The story was engaging, action scenes and VFX were decent. I liked the cinematography (shot on Sony Venice IMAX, Panavision anamorphic primes, director of photography is Autumn Durald Arkapaw, she was the one who was behind "Loki" too), and music (new themes and songs in the same vein as what Ludwig Goransson did in the first movie). While it was a good movie for sure, for me, it didn't reach the highs of "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame", and the pure entertainment value of "Spider-Man: No Way Home" but I think it's certainly one of the best Phase 4 movies. Looking forward to Phase 5 starting with "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" now.I am not 100% sure but I think the end credits font is the common Montserrat which can be found on Google Fonts and therefore is commonly seen on Android apps.I drew letitiawright as Shuri from the movie (her arc is a significant focus of the movie). The drawing was done with 0.5mm 4B mechanical pencil on A5 Brustro sketchbook. You can swipe to see a scan and also some other related images, including my thoughts on the recently released "John Wick: Chapter 4" trailer which I posted on Stories.#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch #pencil #pencilart #pencildrawing#shuri #blackpanther #blackpantherwakandaforever #wakandaforever#704 / 14-Nov-22

How my phone looks now — a 4 frame story in reverse chronological order! I got this @dbrand teardown skin designed in collaboration with @zacksjerryrig (it took about a month or more to get it) and I applied it on my phone. Yes, though it seems odd, I’m using both a transparent case and a skin, so that my card is also there. This is what you’re seeing in selfies now. Also, for those seeing my content on FB, please note that Reels don’t get shared there, and I’d posted a Reel a few days back, showing this skin, which Zack also shared, as a result of which that has got 44K+ views. These pictures of Samsung Galaxy S22 are shot with iPhone 12 Mini. #karthikabhiram #shotoniphone #vsco #dbrand #teardown #zacksjerryrig #samsung #s22 #handsinframe

Cat Portraits at Hyderabad Cat Show from last weekend. I had posted a Reel with some footage from the event, here are some pictures, all with 200D and 85mm. Not much more to be done because the cats were mostly in cages and due to be judged later on (didn’t stay back for that). #canon #200d #85mm #karthikabhiram #hellohyderabad #catshow #catsofinstagram

Terrifier 2 (2022)Directed by Damien LeoneThe "Terrifier" movies are low budget horror productions from director Damien Leone, with the villain being Art the Clown, played by David Howard Thornton. Art does not speak or make any sound in the movies, and I think they never show him blinking either. He mutilates and kills his victims in very brutal ways. The movies make it a point to put up as much of violence and blood as they can on screen, and get creative with the kills. All are shown in graphic detail with practical make up effects. If you like this kind of content then you will appreciate both these movies. They are not available in India officially, however, as a fluke, a couple of weekends back I found both of them uploaded on YouTube (the first is still up, the second one has since been deleted by the uploader) and watched them. They make good use of their limited budget and while they're not exactly scary, they do push the limit in terms of violence and gore, and create a sense of dread. The suspense and tension is achieved well and the quality of the production and acting is way beyond what would be expected from smaller independent movies like this.I drew Art the Clown, the drawing is done with 0.5 mm 4B mechanical pencil on A6 sketchbook. You can swipe to see a scan. Also, I tried to imitate the colour grading in the second movie in Lightroom. #karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#pencil #pencilart #pencilsketch #pencildrawing#terrifier #terrifier2 #arttheclown#ballpointpen#703 / 9-Nov-22

Drishyam (2013) × Drishyam 2: The Resumption (2021)Directed by Jeethu JosephI've been meaning to watch the "Drishyam" movies for a long time, but didn't get around to them till now. Despite the number of remakes I managed to avoid knowing the story details, and I wanted to watch the original Malayalam movie and its sequel back to back, and I did that last weekend. Watched the first one on Hotstar and the second on Prime Video, both in Malayalam with English subtitles, the only downside being that the Hotstar version didn't seem to be a hi def one.I enjoyed both movies greatly, what stood out to me most was the great writing. The acting and all other filmmaking aspects were great too but I really liked all the inventive things Jeethu Joseph included in the story, how he introduced tension because of the characters and situations, and how so many details were set up and paid off. I'm really glad I watched both movies back to back, because the second movie is really a continuation of the same story and you would enjoy it better if you remember all the story details.I drew Mohanlal as Georgekutty from the movies, it's done with ballpoint pen on A5 Brustro sketchbook. You can swipe to see a scan. There's a bit of a @pon_balaji vibe going on in showing the split faces and the colours which I don't normally use as much. I was going to post this earlier (I did post a Reel) but the last few posts were dominated by pictures and Reels of the Solar Eclipse. The last shot here is an eclipse photo with phone.#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#ballpointpen #ballpointpenart #ballpointpendrawing#artistsoninstagram#drishyam #drishyam2 #jeethujoseph #mohanlal#inktober #inktober2022#702 / 23-Oct-22

One more Reel with footage and pictures taken on phone during yesterday's Partial Solar Eclipse. The pictures at 30X zoom are really blurry hence I didn't want to put them as part of a Post. So I thought I'll include them in this Reel along with a couple of other clips I recorded and didn't use in the earlier Reel. #karthikabhiram #hellofrom Hyderabad India #hellohyderabad #solareclipse2022 #solareclipse #diwali @samsungwithgalaxy #withgalaxy #S22 #Reels

I posted a set of 9 still photos that I shot during today's Partial Solar Eclipse. Since I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to post a Reel as well, I filmed some clips with my phone using different zoom levels. Now since a lot of this is software zoom the quality there will suffer, but I still thought it's good to have aside the still pictures. The audio is from a Reel by @masood_boomgaard that's awesome, very good advice 😀 it doesn't particularly have anything to do with this Reel but I used it anyway. Enjoy the footage! Cover Image is one of the still pictures shot with camera. #karthikabhiram #Reels #boigrowaudio #boireeltime #solareclipse #solareclipse2022 #hyderabad #India #hellohyderabad
