@aninchaugust × @karthikabhiram Roundup — Since 2018, I have been participating in this Art Challenge initiated by @tiny.sharma10 and @meghalika, where the idea is to create artworks within the space of an inch. I have always enjoyed it and my excitement for it is the same as it is for @inktober. This year, I've done 26 artworks (I think it's more than any previous year). Had a great time attending the #aninchaugust event on Sunday as well. Keep swiping on this post to see the works done this year and other related highlights. The last artwork here is of content creator @niharika_nm whose videos I enjoy!#aninchaugust #aninchaugust2022 #karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#pencilartwork #ballpointpen

Latest sketches for @aninchaugust — I have done 25 sketches so far, for this year's #aninchaugust challenge. I had earlier posted a collage of the first 16 drawings, here are the remaining 9. I am planning to do one more sketch and that post will round up the challenge for this year. The ones featured here are movie related sketches and other ones.• @arunvijayno1 as Rudra from the web series "Tamil Rockerz" which was quite entertaining and an interesting take on movie piracy in an action thriller mold• There was a bonus 11th episode of the show "The Sandman" released recently which contained two stories, this is a sketch of a crow from "Dream of a 1000 Cats", the character being voiced by Neil Gaiman• Gulab Jamun for the prompt 'delicious' suggested by @vamshibhasham• A shot from "Nope", a movie which I really enjoyed• Abhradeep Saha a.k.a. @angryrantman whose movie review videos I like, he has a unique presentation style and makes good points• Live drawing during 28-Aug's event, using the same reference as @quaintessential_, for the prompt 'reflections' suggested by @reshma_heartworks• The two maneating lions from the movie "The Ghost and the Darkness" which I rewatched after many years• @officialslystallone from the movie "Samaritan" which was quite good!Tamil Rockerz (2022)Directed by Arivazhagan#688 / 22-Aug-22The Sandman (2022)Developed by Neil Gaiman, David S Goyer, Allan Heinberg#689 / 25-Aug-22Nope (2022)Directed by Jordan Peele#690 / 27-Aug-22The Ghost and the Darkness (1996)Directed by Stephen Hopkins#691, #692 / 28-Aug-22Samaritan (2022)Directed by Julius Avery#693 / 31-Aug-22#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch #aninchaugust2022 #pencil #ballpointpen

10 square frames from Thursday night, when I went to watch "Karthikeya 2" at PVR ICON Hitech City. There's a post credit scene at the end, and you don't need to have watched the first movie to enjoy it.I watched "Nope" yesterday again for the second time in a different theatre and it was very good, was able to appreciate a few things more, the second time. Also, there is a surprise 11th episode of "The Sandman" that Netflix released. This is an hour long two part episode, with two Stories — "Dream of a Thousand Cats" and "Calliope". I'm watching now.#karthikabhiram @samsungwithgalaxy #withgalaxy #teamgalaxy #shotonphone #makenightsepic #nightography @instagram #hellofrom Hyderabad India #hellohyderabad #madeforsquare

Watched @jordanpeele's "Nope" yesterday at @amb_cinemas (Screen 4) and enjoyed it! It's not a movie where one would immediately have a clear "loved it" or "hated it" response, which is I think a common reaction for me, with all of Peele's movies. I would say that "Get Out" is still his most accessible and mainstream film, and in terms of the suspension of disbelief required to enjoy, "Nope" was easier to appreciate for me, than "Us". You already can tell from the trailers that this movie involves a UFO, and what they have done with the concept is a unique blend of genres and very different from what one wold be expecting. The craft is amazing — the visuals (cinematography by Hoyte van Hoytema in 65mm and IMAX), sound and music design are spectacular (which I later read was one of the themes of the movie). The nods to movies and filmmaking were also appreciated. I'm watching the movie again today. Here are some photos from AMB yesterday mostly involving reflections. If you saw someone kneeling down keeping the phone to the ground yesterday, that was me. @kashyapchandra also was at the same show.#karthikabhiram @samsungwithgalaxy #withgalaxy #S22 #makenightsepic #nightography #teamgalaxy #shotonphone #Nope @instagram #hellofrom Hyderabad India #hellohyderabad

Karthikeya 2 (2022)Directed by Chandoo MondetiIt's hard to believe the first "Karthikeya" movie was released all the way back in 2014 and @avinashseye and myself had watched it in the theatre then. I don't remember the details of the movie now, should rewatch it, but I liked it (with the heroic lead character being named Karthik, how could I not). The sequel has the character Karthik going to Dwaraka and several other places in India in pursuit of an artifact belonging to Lord Krishna. I felt the movie was a bit overlong and a bit heavy handed in the way it approached the spiritual elments, but I enjoyed it overall. As per Wikipedia the budget was just ₹15-30 cr, and it's surprising what they achieved, the movie has an epic scope with great visuals (cinematographer Karthik Gattamneni) and looks much more expensive. This reminded me of two things — an Indiana Jones adventure and a Tintin book. Imagine these two titles — "Indiana Jones and the Lost Treasure of Krishna", or "Tintin and the Lost Artifacts".I drew Anupama Parameswaran as Mugdha from the movie, this is done with 0.5 mm 4B mechanical pencil on A5 Brustro sketchbook. You can swipe to see a scan. This is the 16th drawing for @aninchaugust #aninchaugust #aninchaugust2022 and I've included a collage with the drawings done so far this year.@anupamaparameswaran96 @chandoo.mondeti #karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#pencilart #pencildrawing#miniatureart #miniaturedrawing #sketch#karthikeya #anupamaparameswaran#687 / 19-Aug-22

Lunch outing at @farzicafehyderabad on 15 Aug feat. @karthikabhiram @mangopenciler2.0 @tiny.sharma10 @rad_art_1 @mahartified. Group shots were all taken with the phone on a tripod and timer, camera shutter activated through @xiaomiindia Mi Band 6. Also, the last slide with the collage of two group shots just needs a Netflix logo on it, and it will look like something right out of a sitcom. #karthikabhiram @samsungwithgalaxy #withgalaxy #hellofrom Hyderabad India #hellohyderabad #shotonphone #teamgalaxy

Entry for the @aninchaugust #aninchaugust #aninchaugust2022 Weekend Prompt "Vivid" suggested by @aestheticpraani — this is a one inch square ballpoint pen drawing of a painting by Bill Sienkiewicz based on the fantasy character Death Dealer by artist Frank Frazetta. Both are legendary artists and their works can be seen on @frazettagirls and @billsienkiewiczart. Since the sketches I have done for the challenge so far have mostly been pencil black and white ones I thought I'd do something in colour for this prompt and I liked this painting's use of colour. This is on A5 Brustro sketchbook. You can swipe to see a scan.#karthikabhiram #miniatureart #ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing #ballpointpenart #fantasy #frankfrazetta #billsienkiewicz

𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐬 • 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝟐 — I had earlier posted a series of B&W pictures with passengers framed in windows from Metro. This is a second series. The shots are in colour and in a different aspect ratio this time, and this set has five shots. B&W versions are included as well. As with the earlier set, this also took days to make as I am able to get only one or two of these shots per day. #karthikabhiram @samsungwithgalaxy #withgalaxy #S22 #streetphotography #strangersinmypost #blackandwhite #symmetry
