Watched "Thor: Love and Thunder" at @amb_cinemas last night and I had a great time watching the movie! I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. It was very entertaining and good natured, and so likeable. It didn't have much to do with the larger MCU and normally that would be a reason for me not to like it, but in this case I didn't mind. The story is simple and straightforward but I loved the experience. It's a classic rock inspired comedy adventure. I liked the way all the stars portrayed their characters.I loved the use of music, right from the opening studio logo where we get a rock inspired cover of the Marvel Studios fanfare, the Guns N' Roses songs ('Sweet Child O Mine' does appear and I was cheering every time it was played), the Michael Giacchino score (some themes to me called back to Mark Mothersbaugh's "Thor: Ragnarok" score). I discovered a new 80s song which I like a lot now, 'Rainbow in the Dark' by Dio, that plays during the end credits.I'm sure if I think back later I might realise the experience was better than the movie itself, but that's OK. Upside Down — it was raining last night so when I reached Metro Station I took the opportunity to take a few photos using the reflections in the water on the floor. So if you saw someone squatting and turning the phone upside down and taking photos, that was me The last two slides are unedited photos, you have an alternate edit of the first photo, and then six photos showing both upside down and regular versions (all these edited in @vsco). The last two episodes of "Stranger Things 4" came out on Netflix on Friday, and I watched them on the weekend. This season was split up into two volumes, Vol 1 comprising Episodes 1-7 which came out in May, and the present Vol 2 with Episodes 8 and 9. Put together these two episodes run almost four hours long, and the show's creaetors announced that the show will end with the final fifth season.As I mentioned before I loved this season, it was darker and had more horror elements than the previous seasons, and they have really bumped up the production values and made it very epic. The last two episodes were so anticipated, that, I read that Netflix crashed for a few minutes at the time they were released, also, apparently the versions of the episodes available at that point of time had a very small number (I believe 20) of unfinished VFX shots, the corrected episodes being uploaded a few hours later.I loved these two episodes, they were very well made and served as a nice conclusion to the season while setting up the final season. Let's hope we won't have to wait for 3 years for that!I drew Sadie Sink as Max from the show, she was an important character for much of this season. The drawing was done with multi colour Bic ballpoint pen and Gelly Roll on A5 notebook. On Friday, Episode 7 of "The Boys" Season 3 was also released and I watched that as well this weekend, and it was excellent. This show is also very well written and made, and in this season in particular, you have no idea where it's going! I went to @amb_cinemas yesterday after a long time, to watch "Minions: The Rise of Gru", which was fun. The place certainly provides a premium experience, the ambience is really good and one can shoot pictures with symmetry and patterns. I've booked in the same place for "Thor: Love and Thunder" as well on 7th. Tagging @samsungwithgalaxy on this set for low light or night images. Also, I've included B&W versions of the images in this post too — I feel both are appealing. Once you strip away the colour the patterns are highlighted better. But the colour versions have a nice blue and orange combination.
