Stranger Things 4 (2022)Created by The Duffer BrothersAs you may have seen from my previous two posts, I had participated in the Art Slam event organised by @the_nations_rock_beat @thenrbevents this weekend. On Sunday, @sripriyatham and I did a bit of Live Sketching at the event, and I drew the big bad Vecna from "Stranger Things 4". I've put that in this post along with a scan. You can also swipe to see a couple of ultrawide selfie shots I took on Day 1 of the event.I loved Season 4! So far, it's 7 episodes that have been released as "Volume 1" and episodes 8 and 9 (Volume 2) are coming in July. I was cautiously optimistic for this season as I was hoping that it would not be a simple retread of what we've seen before, and it was not! I appreciated how they expanded the scope of the show and kept it engaging, the visuals, production value, music are all exceptional as usual, and I loved the more horror inclined vibe of this season.I've also included some other pictures in this post.Thanks to @hemuishere for the framed print of his Thanos artwork, which he gave me at the event. Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)Directed by Taika WaititiA new trailer for "Thor: Love and Thunder" was released a couple of days back and featured Christian Bale as the antagonist in the movie. Now, I have no background of the character at all but he had an interesting look visually. @mangopenciler2.0 drew a quick sketch of the character so I thought I would also do the same. This is done with ballpoint pen on A5 notebook, and you can swipe to see a scan.A trailer was also released for "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One" and for the Russo Brothers movie "The Gray Man", featuring a big star cast. Prashanth Neel Cinematic Universe •• KGF: Chapter 2 (2022) • Salaar (2023) • NTR31 (2023)Directed by Prashanth NeelI love the KGF movies directed by @prashanthneel, and his upcoming "Salaar" with @actorprabhas is also supposed to be a dark and violent action movie in the same tone. This is an invert artwork featuring @thenameisyash and Prabhas, and @jrntr from his upcoming project with the director. The poster of the latter was released a couple of days back on the occasion of the actor's birthday, and it was a dark image which I thought would be perfect for an invert drawing. Also, I was discussing with @mangopenciler2.0 about rumours that these three movies would be connected, which I think may not be the case since their timelines won't match up. Anyway one can always imagine that the movies may be part of a shared universe, and that's why I drew this.The drawing was done with 0.5 mm 4B mechanical pencil on A5 notebook. You can swipe to see the scanned versions, and also the Photoshop mockup which I made and used as reference.If you want to invert an image on phone, you can use the Curves tool in Snapseed to do so, you simply drag the ends of the curve so that they end up at opposite ends.One more bit of information — Prashanth Neel's "Ugramm" (2014) is available on YouTube with English subtitles and I'll watch that soon. Moon Picture with the Samsung Galaxy S22 — The day before yesterday, I was genuinely surprised to get this picture of the moon, from the new phone! Samsung's computation photography techniques are doing a lot of heavy lifting here and this is a great result in my opinion, really an example of software transcending hardware limitations. Hardware wise, the phone has a 70mm equivalent (3x) lens, but you can push it all the way to 30x zoom which is what I did here. The AI automatically recognised that this was the moon and adjusted the exposure and I was able to get one shot with much more detail in it. You can swipe to see the straight from camera image, and swipe again to see another picture which is softer and didn't capture as much detail (more representative of the other moon pictures I have taken so far on S22). This AI processing doesn't seem to kick in as much at 10x or 20x though. Also, there is supposed to be a lunar eclipse happening tomorrow morning but it's apparently not visible from India. #karthikabhiram #withgalaxy #s22 #hellohyderabad #moon
