𝐒𝐄𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 • 𝟏𝟎 𝐎𝐜𝐭 𝟐𝟏 — As I'd posted on Stories, I was one of the Artists exhibiting works at the "Seher India Art & Music Festival" on Sunday. Congrats to the organisers, artists and bands for making it a wonderful event! I had a great experience being a part of it, though, it was really tiring since I was there from around 9:30 AM and only returned home at around 11:30 PM. So that's why it has taken time for me to post about it.Though I didn't get to personally meet all the artists, I did go through all the other art stalls and saw all the displayed works by so many talented artist friends. It was lovely to have @rad_art_1, @saltandsambar and @distracted.boy as my immediate stall neighbours and awesome company!As with previous similar events, I had prints of my artwork available for purchase and some of my sketchbooks on display so that people could look at the original drawings. I had also made an updated visiting card design and managed to fit 10 of my artworks in it, as a giveaway to everyone who visited my stall. I was happy to have given away more than a hundred visiting cards. Thanks to everyone who visited for the kind appreciation and support!Thought I brought my camera it was a really busy day, and also due to the mixed indoor lighting, I ended up taking pictures with phone only. I'll post 2 or 3 sets of pictures from the event. [@inktober Day 4: Knot]The Prestige (2006)Directed by Christopher NolanFor the @inktober prompt "Knot", I was not sure what to draw, and when I searched for 'knot in movies', a GIF from this movie came up as one of the results. The movie's on Netflix so I paused one frame of it, screenshotted and used it as a reference for this drawing.This Christopher Nolan movie is about the rivalry between two magicians, played by Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. It does get into science fiction territory with what might be considered as pretty out there concepts, but it's played completely seriously and is extremely polished. It is very engaging as might be expected from a Nolan movie.Where the knot comes into play is, the rivalry between the two magicians starts when Hugh Jackman loses the love of his life. The stage magic trick involves her being tied up and submerged in a tank containing water, which she is supposed to escape from, but she is unable to free herself from the knot tied, and so she drowns.Hugh Jackman asks Christian Bale's character, "Which knot did you tie", in the frame that I drew. [@inktober Day 3: Vessel]Pi (1998)Directed by Darren AronofskyFor the @inktober prompt "Vessel", I thought of this 1998 Darren Aronofsky thriller about a mathematician Max, who runs into a 216 digit number during his research on the stock markets. There are other groups of people after this number — a group of people who want to use it to manipulate the markets, and a Jewish group who believe it may be the true name of God. The movie is an interesting one, shot on high contrast 16 mm black and white film (I believe this is where I heard the name Matthew Libatique first, he is the cinematographer for this movie, and went on to work on "Black Swan", "Requiem for a Dream", "Iron Man" and numerous others). Clint Mansell did the music for it, and I remember the trailer for this and the way it was edited.There is a line of dialogue in the movie, which a Rabbi tells Max — "You are only a vessel for our God! You are carrying a delivery that was meant for us!", this line is in trailer as well and that's what inspired this drawing.I drew Max from the movie, where he is putting a chip in his computer. [@inktober Day 2: Suit]Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)Directed by Jon WattsThird post for the day! It's not often that I make so many posts in the same day, maybe, the engagement I get might suffer. But since this is for the @inktober challenge and I completed the drawing today, thought to post it before the day gets over.For the prompt word "Suit" I thought of "Spider-Man: Far From Home" where Peter decides to go on vacation leaving his Spider-Man suit behind, only to find that his Aunt May has packed it for him anyway. The reference image I used is a shot from the trailer I believe, I am not sure if that's there in the movie or not.I started this sketch at today's art meetup organised by @seher.eknayishuruaat at @lifafahyd. Today's meetup was a prelude to the art and music festival Seher which is on October 10th. I will be putting up a stall at the event, today's meet was for the artists participating in the event. [@inktober Day 1: Crystal]Breaking Bad (2008-2013)Created by Vince GilliganSo, September went by very quickly, before one even realised it, and October is here! So that means it's @inktober, where one is encouraged to do one ink sketch every day in the month. The prompt for Day 1 is Crystal, and I had a couple of ideas on what to draw, I thought of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" but that movie didn't live up to the quality of the others. Another idea was to draw something based on the 1990s TV show "The Crystal Maze". But I finally settled on a more popular character — Bryan Cranston as Walter White, the Chemistry teacher turned drug lord, from the show "Breaking Bad". This is him holding a packet of the blue coloured crystal meth that he cooks. The drawing was done with Bic black ballpoint pen on A5 notebook from @themedschoolstudent.store.
