Mortal Kombat (2021)Directed by Simon McQuoidThe trailer for the upcoming "Mortal Kombat" reboot was released a few days ago and it looked really good! It was a red band trailer (meaning the trailer itself could have uncensored kontent from the movie it was advertising), so it didn't hold back on the violence and we got to see some kreative bloodshed. Unlike the 1995 adaptation which was a PG-13 film, this one embraces its R rating, with a lot of bloody violence and apparently they included the fatalities from the games (the trailer ends with Kano ripping out a fellow kombatant's heart and saying "Kano wins. You fuckin' beauty"). Looking forward to watching the movie!I drew Joe Taslim (who you might remember from "The Raid" and "The Night Komes for Us") as Sub-Zero from the movie. The drawing was done with 0.5 mm 4B mechanical pencil on A6 sketchbook. There were three Art Stalls at the event, it was great to exhibit along with fellow artists @dear.artsie and @rishipavan. Music performances, Open Mic and other stalls were there too. ART EVENT ALERT! I'm exhibiting my artworks this coming Saturday, 20-Feb-21, at "The Flea Affair", organised by @umedia.online. The venue is @chaidukaan, Banjara Hills and you can get tickets for the event on @meraeventsindia. There are stalls/open mic and workshops planned as part of the event so do drop in if you can! I will be bringing along several of my sketchbooks and will have prints of my artwork also available. @dear.artsie and @rishipavan will also be displaying their artworks. Guess who just binged the entire first season of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" in one evening/night/early morning and is now watching the second? That's right, it's me. (Sounds a lot like the opening line of a sitcom doesn't it?) Heard a lot about the show and had seen some clips from it, and of late thanks to recommendations of @tiny.sharma10, @mangopenciler2.0 and @mahartified I started watching it. I'm enjoying the show, appreciate the way the comedy comes from the characters but the detective/ police work depicted is taken relatively seriously.I drew Andy Samberg as Jake Peralta from the show. The drawing was done with @pentelofamerica Graphgear 1000 0.5mm mechanical pencil with 4B lead on A6 sketchbook.I'm also posting the drawing I did based on the teaser from "Zack Snyder's Justice League". I drew Superman in the black suit.A trailer is expected to drop at 10:44 PM India Time today and I am really looking forward to seeing it. Very glad that we are finally going to see Zack Snyder's vision for the Justice League after more than 3 years. The footage we've seen so far, makes it look like a completely different movie from what we saw (it apparently is — some reports say that only 30 minutes of what we saw in 2017 was what Snyder filmed, the rest was all Joss Whedon's reshoots, hence referred to as "Josstice League"). Seems very epic. Apparently they have some plan for the release in India. Let's see.The drawing itself isn't anything special, in fact it doesn't even look like the person it's supposed to be. But it was an experiment, I was attempting to draw with both hands simultaneously, and in 5 minutes for @rasa_by_sreelikhi's challenge. 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐒𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 — A few months back I did sketches of a few of my Artist friends. A few days back, @shrusti_mohanty had posted this very interesting self portrait and I thought it would make for a nice drawing, so I drew it. I thought it would be interesting to render blur and motion with ballpoint pen. I think there are some parts I could have drawn better but overall I think it's a good attempt. Swipe for a video of the drawing (can you identify the song?) and also for a sped up version. Also, @rasa_by_sreelikhi announced a challenge to do artworks in 5 minutes. I drew @shreyaguptoo, actually did twice and both took closer to 10 minutes. Also posting some other quick sketches that I did over the last few days. I'd normally also post scanned versions of the drawings, but I'm unable to do that now as my laptop is not fixed. One more drawing of @mipalkarofficial — some time back I had seen this very nice B&W portrait of her on her profile, a picture shot by @richaphotos and I wanted to draw it. So, I'd saved the post and completed the drawing yesterday. Drawn with Pentel Graphgear 1000 pencil with 0.5 mm 4B lead on A6 sketchbook. Swipe to see a couple of in progress images and a short video (around 3 minutes of drawing sped up to 1 minute). Normally I'd post a scan of the drawing as well but there's some power issue with my laptop now, so till that gets fixed I won't be able to scan drawings.
