It has been a while since I put up a post with my own pictures, so here is a set of 10, to indulge one's narcissism! All taken at home by myself, phone photos. I guess these are better for a little bump in engagement as well? Quite a few of them are pictures I took for posting on Stories, as I'm doing a 30 Days Strength Challenge, initiated by @soumyavedi. Also, these depict the beard as it is now. #pixel2xl #teampixel #karthikabhiram

Last entry for @aninchaugust #aninchaugust #aninchaugust2020 Prompt "Texture" suggested by @musa_the_sculptor. I know, August is over but I wanted to draw this anyway. I suppose this could have been done better but I attempted realism here. #pixel2xl #teampixel #karthikabhiram

One more set of macro pictures for the @aninchaugust #aninchaugust #aninchaugust2020 Sunday Prompt "Texture" suggested by @musa_the_sculptor. These are macro photos of 0.5mm 2B mechanical pencil leads, the same ones I have been using for all my pencil drawings for the last few years. I thought it's appropriate, to make the subject of the photo art related. And since Musa does sculptures in pencil leads, I thought it fitting to shoot the texture of the lead. The macro pictures were shot with my 200D camera, with reversed 18-55mm lens, inspired by a recent post by @navaneeth_unnikrishnan. A wider focal length gives you more of a macro effect. There are reverse rings available that would allow you to fit the lens backwards on the camera, but since I don't have one of those, I simply turned the lens around, held it against the camera and then shot the pictures.Getting the focus right is a difficult task as even slight movement will make things go wildly out of focus, and you need as much light as you can give, for this (since you'll be holding the lens very close to the subject).I had put the camera in burst mode and shot around 240 photos for getting these few usable ones. You can swipe to see the behind the scenes. The weird expression was me concentrating and trying to get an in focus shot. There's also a picture in there of the 18-55mm lens that I've not used in years. That is the kit lens that came with my first DSLR, the Canon 550D, bought in April 2011, and hence is an older version of that lens.I wanted to do a sketch based on the theme as well, but wasn't able to do that in time. Well, I guess it will have to be a first of September entry.Congratulations, @tiny.sharma10 and @meghalika for a very successful round of #aninchaugust this year, and for the great virtual meetup that happened yesterday.#canon #200d #1855mm #macro #macrophotography #macrowithshannu#pixel2xl #teampixel (for the photos of me)#karthikabhiram@instagram #hellofrom Hyderabad India #hellohyderabad #thisweekoninstagram #bornoninstagram
