[#DailyMovieSketch × #Inktober #Inktober2019] @inktoberTerminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)Directed by James CameronThis is a sketch for the Inktober prompt word "freeze". There are several things one could draw, one of the obvious ones being Mr Freeze from either "Batman: The Animated Series" (a good choice) or "Batman & Robin" (but who would want to watch that movie again). But, for something different I thought of the scene in "Terminator 2" where the T-1000 gets frozen in liquid nitrogen, just before Arnold utters the classic line "Hasta La Vista, Baby". I think the "Terminator" movies and "Aliens" are James Cameron's best works, period. Depsite his involvement though, I'm cautious with my expectations from the upcoming "Terminator: Dark Fate". But let's see how it is.The drawing was done with @staedtlermars ballpoint pens on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned.#ballpointpen #inksketch #penandink #t1000 #terminator2 #t2 #arnoldschwarzenegger #robertpatrick #terminator#hastalavistababy #terminatordarkfate #darkfate#479 / 6-Oct-19

[#DailyMovieSketch × #Inktober #Inktober2019] @inktoberJaws (1975)Directed by Steven SpielbergThis is a sketch for the Inktober prompt word "bait" and I thought of Spielberg's "Jaws", with the lead characters trying to catch a killer Great White Shark. There is a scene in the movie where they throw chum (shark bait) into the waters, and I thought of it for the sketch.I think I would have watched the movie on video back in the early 1990s, and had not seen it after that. So, for this drawing I re-watched it (in HD for the first time, on Google Play Movies), and it is such a great film. I can understand now why it is considered a classic – everything just goes together so well. It's entertaining, fast paced, well acted, the music is fantastic, and it feels like a summer blockbuster (which it was). The sketch features Roy Scheider from the movie, along with "Bruce" the shark (the mechanical shark was apparently given this nickname, after Spielberg's lawyer). The drawing was done with @staedtlermars ballpoint pens on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned.#ballpointpen #inksketch #penandink#jaws #stevenspielberg #bruce #shark #greatwhite #quint #youregoingtoneedabiggerboat#478 / 5-Oct-19

[#DailyMovieSketch × #Inktober #Inktober2019] @inktoberPlanet Terror (2007)Directed by Robert RodriguezThe second prompt word for Inktober 2019 is "Mindless" and I was racking my brains trying to think of what to draw for this. Then I remembered this scene from Robert Rodriguez's segment "Planet Terror" in the Rodriguez-Tarantino collaboration, "Grindhouse". When an outbreak of DC2 gas turns much of the population of a town into zombies (here called sickos), it's up to a small band of survivors to save the day. A gleefully splatter-filled movie, it's very entertaining and brilliantly done, and has a scene in which Stacy Ferguson's character is wheeled into a hospital, and this dialogue ensues — "Looks like a no-brainer." "What does that mean?" "No brain… scooped clean out of her skull." I drew this with @staedtlermars ballpoint pens on A6 Brustro sketchbook. This is a scan of the drawing.#ballpointpen #inksketch #penandink@rodriguez #grindhouse #quentintarantino #planetterror #deathproof #robertrodriguez #stacyferguson #fergie#477 / 2-Oct-19

[#DailyMovieSketch × #Inktober #Inktober2019] @inktoberThe Ring (2002)Directed by Gore VerbinskiThe first prompt word for Inktober 2019 is "Ring" and so this movie was an obvious choice. I drew Daveigh Chase as Samara Morgan from the movie.I had ordered a set of 10 colour @staedtlermars ballpoint pens from Amazon a couple of weeks back. My plan is to do all the Inktober sketches this year, using those (so they'll all be in colour). For this one I tried to match the greenish tint of the movie's cinematography and so used primarily black and green pens. The drawing was done on A6 Brustro sketchbook. This is a scan of the drawing. The movie itself — about a cursed videotape that causes the viewer to die seven days after watching it, is a very well made and surprisingly restrained horror film. It led to a large number of Asian Horror remakes through the 2000s. I wouldn't be wrong to call this the best of them all I guess. I actually started rewatching this movie last night on @primevideoin.#thering #ring #samara #ballpointpen#ringu #jhorror #inksketch #penandink#476 / 1-Oct-19
