So I drew him.The drawing was done with @staedtlermars ballpoint pens on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned. "Death Note" is one of the best anime series made, it's so engaging and cinematic. I love the battle of wits between the characters Light and L. So for now, this does it for the Inktober sketches this year. I have done 17 drawings (better than previous two years where I did between 10-15 sketches only). I'd done a sketch on "Pulp Fiction", one of my all time favourite movies, so thought of working in this one as well as it's another favourite.I drew Edward Norton as the Narrator. This is from the very end of the movie where he gets injured (I won't say how, to avoid spoilers), bringing his character arc to a conclusion. And he says, "You met me at a very strange time in my life." [#DailyMovieSketch × #Inktober #Inktober2019] @inktoberA Clockwork Orange (1971)Directed by Stanley KubrickFor the Inktober prompt word "wild" (older one that I've not drawn), I thought of Stanley Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange" adapted from the book by Anthony Burgess. I'd actually heard someone refer to this movie sometime ago, and I had not seen it in many many years so I rewatched it last month. I'd actually started this sketch then itself but didn't complete it. I thought this could be related to the "wild" prompt word and so completed the drawing today and am posting it.The movie stars Malcolm McDowell as Alex, a young man in a futuristic dystopian society. Alex and his gang engage in violence and rape, and when he is imprisoned, he chooses to undergo a procedure that would rid him of his violent tendencies (hence the "wild"). The movie was rated X at the time of release. As with Kubrick's other movies, one can appreciate the movie itself and the craft behind it. I drew Alex from the scene in which he undergoes the Ludovico procedure. The movie was ahead of its time and it got recognition as a cult classic only years after its release. I've always loved the movie from the time I saw it (years ago, on TV), and it holds up well even on rewatching.I drew the ancient sorcerer David Lo Pan (played delightfully by James Hong), in his old man form. [#DailyMovieSketch × #Inktober #Inktober2019] @inktoberSamurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance (2015)Directed by Gregory HatanakaThis movie is a sequel to the "so-bad-it's-good" movie "Samurai Cop", made with a very low budget in 1991. The first movie was discovered several years later and has become a minor cult favourite for all its flaws. In 2015, a sequel came out because of fans' interest.The sequel while still a low budget film, had much better production values than the original, and has better acting (from the principals at least) than the first. Still, it's only for people who want to watch this type of stuff, not for everyone. The whole film has this very garish look, the plot is all over the place which leads one to think they actually had lot of things planned, but because of budgetary or other limitations, they didn't include them in the movie. Many characters and story elements are introduced and then dropped, about all I can make out about the story is that it's about warring gangs but I didn't find it that interesting. Most of the female characters are played by adult film actresses. Tommy Wiseau is in the movie and his insane overacting was annoying to me. But overall, I didn't regret watching this, it's certainly a very unusual experience! The movie is available to watch online on TubiTV (which is where I watched it). Yesterday I had attended an Art Workshop by @keshrt, and a brush pen was included as part of the materials we used there. He encouraged participants to sketch a lot, and sketch what one wanted to get good at drawing. I thought I'd try a couple of quick sketches with the pen, so did this. I was initially thinking of not posting these, as they're quickly done and not very good, but I decided to go ahead anyway.I drew Mathew Karedas and Kayden Kross as Joe and Jennifer from the movie. After all, one of the #ExplainAFilmPlotBadly versions of "Endgame" said that it's a group of friends coming together after years to pull off a jewelry heist.The movie of course is excellent, and has since become one of the most successful movies of all time. I already wrote about it a few months before here, along with sketches, and I loved the movie. It's epic, dramatic and deserving of all the praise.I drew Thanos from the beginning of the movie, where he tells the Avengers that he "used the stones to destroy the stones".
