John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019)Directed by Chad StahelskiIf you have been following my posts for some time, you may know that I don't like censorship of movies. I especially get annoyed when our overly sensitive Indian Censor Board makes cuts to movies when they are already rated "A". Why does a movie already certified to be for Adults only need to be cut? Also, I don't like the idea of people getting overly sensitive about the content in certain movies. Thankfully, we get uncensored content on Netflix and other streaming services, but there are groups of people looking to censor that too.With this thought and in conversation with a couple of friends, I had this idea to do a series of sketches showing or rather celebrating films with adult content, especially things that would get censored.This is one of them, showing a scene that was cut in the version that we saw in India – where John Wick stabs a guy in the eye. I'll do more of these, and will tag them as #uncensored. You can see this uncut scene on YouTube too.Without a doubt, "John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum" is one of the best films of 2019. The movie has got standout action scenes that are brilliantly done and very artistic, so, just dismissing them as adult content and cutting them, I feel is a big disservice to the movie. People get shot, stabbed and otherwise killed off in very creative ways, that will leave you with a huge grin on your face. I'm actually glad that most of the violence survived uncut (censorship in other countries could be probably worse), but I'm still annoyed that they cut it after rating it "A". To be clear, violence in real life isn't good. But in movies, I say, bring it on, the stronger the better!
