[#DailyMovieSketch × #Inktober]Akira (1988)Directed by Katsuhiro OtomoI had been very busy with work the last month, just got done with a major Recruitment activity, so now have a little more time for drawing. I took a couple of days off from work as well. Today, I completed this drawing I started earlier – based on the 1988 Japanese anime film "Akira". This isn't exactly in line with the #Inktober2018 prompt word "flowing" for Day 10, but I'm still tagging it as such (@leimelendres used the same prompt word and drew a still from the same film coincidentally). The film is fantastic, set in 2019 Neo Tokyo, with young Tetsuo Shima running into a group of psi powered individuals, resulting in his mutation and pursuit by multiple groups. The animation is exquisitely detailed, the music is great and it has an engaging story.The sketch shows Tetsuo in a grotesque body horror scene with flesh and technology sprouting from his body.I started the sketch in September actually, though I only finished it now – and used the same style as my other #Inktober sketches this year, using a black Bic ballpoint pen and a red ballpoint pen.#Akira #Anime #Tetsuo #Kaneda #ballpointpen #ballpoint #pen#377 / 10-Oct-18
