[#AnInchAugust × #DailyMovieSketch]mother! (2017)Directed by Darren AronofskyI watched "mother!" this weekend on Amazon Prime, and I really liked it. This is the kind of movie that's not for everyone, as what is going on in the movie is not clearly explained. It is set in this huge rustic house in the middle of the woods, the only two people living there are a poet (Javier Bardem) and his wife (Jennifer Lawrence). Their tranquil life is interrupted by visitors who come to the house. There is a mystery around the entire setting as the house they live in seems to have a life of its own.I thought the movie was beautifully made, with great acting (especially from Lawrence as she is on screen most of the time) and cinematography (by Matthew @libatique, shot on a mix of 16mm and 35mm film). There are some sudden bursts of violence/nudity. I had an interpretation of the movie which I later confirmed was the right one. With that context I was able to appreciate the movie. I drew Jennifer Lawrence, didn't get her likeness correctly. I need to work on this, getting the facial features right in a small drawing like this. This is part of #AnInchAugust where the challenge is to make drawings that fit in one square inch.
