It has been almost a year since I got my current laptop, and all these months I had not installed Doom (the original games from the 1990s) on it. I don’t consider myself a gamer by any means but there was a phase in the late 1990s/early 2000s where I used to play Doom (and a few of the other first person shooters from that time) and @varunabhiram and I have even made some of our own levels. Last night I copied the game data files and installed GZDoom and was able to play these games again. These are screenshots from two levels that I made, and they are “speed maps” which means I made these in 100 minutes. The thing is, the second one, I don’t even remember making it, so, it was fun for me to play. These are from 2007/8 apparently and are very short levels. But I remember I made them look good, for having been made in such a short time. So I thought I’d post these screenshots. #karthikabhiram #doom #doomfans #doom2
