Don't Look Up (2021)Directed by Adam McKayComedy isn't my preferred genre, as I usually prefer thriller / horror / science fiction / action movies, but I enjoyed this one as it was quite sarcastic and dark. The movie is about two astronomers played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, who discover that a comet is heading towards Earth with the potential to destroy all life on the planet, and the reactions to it.It gave me vibes of "South Park", "This is the End", "Independence Day", "Idiocracy", "Rick and Morty" (not that these are directly related) with a sometimes surreal feel. The movie may not be for everyone but I liked it! Had I watched it in 2021 it would have been in my “Very Good” tier! I liked the visual look of the movie as well (this is shot on film).It had an interesting design for the titles. One thing I noticed is that most, if not all the characters were shown using Red Hydrogen phones (which I think was never commercially launched). I read that they put it in there because these phones look different from the usual ones that we use.I drew Leonardo DiCaprio from the movie, the drawing was done with ballpoint pen on A6 sketchbook.
