Trance (2020)Directed by Anwar RasheedThere was quite a bit of buzz about "Trance" around its release and it had a very stylish trailer too. Those who saw it on release gave good feedback about it, and I wanted to watch it as well. Fortunately, it recently came out on @primevideoin and I watched it yesterday. Fahadh Faasil plays Viju Prasad at the start of the movie – a motivational speaker working in Kanyakumari and struggling to make ends meet. After certain events in his life that make him move to Mumbai, he is recruited by the powerful Solomon (Gautham Menon) and Isaac (Chemban Jose), and 'reinvented' as Pastor Joshua Carlton – an evangelist who they hope will make them millions.The movie has an engaging (possibly controversial?) story and at the centre of it all is an amazing performance by Fahadh. The other actors are good too, and the whole movie has a nice stylised look. I liked the music as well. Perhaps it was a bit longer than it should have been but that's a minor criticism.
