Stranger Things 3 (2019)Created by The Duffer BrothersI finished watching Season 3 of "Stranger Things" some days ago, like the second season, this is titled "Stranger Things 3", meaning it's more like a movie sequel than a TV show's season. The eight episodes moved by very quickly, and I thought the pacing in this season was better than in the second. This time around, we find the characters in July 1985, the Starcourt Mall is a location important to the story, there is a new monster in town, with a connection to the Upside Down.I love "Stranger Things" for its 1980s nostalgia, its superb ensemble cast of fantastic young actors, its great blend of the kids movie and the more R-rated horror elements, and its characters, engaging story and action. "Stranger Things 3" is more action and horror oriented, particularly, a Cronenberg or Carpenter's "The Thing"-esque body horror. Although the two are different, I was reminded of the monster in @neillblomkamp's "Zygote" short film also. As usual, the production values are top-notch, the cinematography and visual effects are great, and the music is excellent. I liked the new characters introduced in this season too. This is obviously a must-watch for fans of the show, and I look forward to what they will do with the fourth season (which is likely to be the final or penultimate season). I drew Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin (one of my favourite characters in the show), from a scene in the last episode, which I really liked! I don't want to spoil it so I'm not giving any more details here. The drawing was done with two multi colour ballpoint pens on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned.
