[#NOSPOILERS]Avengers: Endgame (2019)Directed by Joe and Anthony RussoFollowing the events of “Avengers: Infinity War”, where the villain Thanos (Josh Brolin) acquired the six Infinity Stones and snapped half of all life in the Universe out of existence, the Avengers must find a way to undo the decimation. This is the Endgame, the conclusion to the “Infinity Saga” storyline established across 21 previous movies over the span of 11 years. What a feat Marvel Studios has pulled off – I can’t imagine conceptualising and executing something like this! The story is epic and crammed with a lot of detail, but it goes very fast even inspite of its 3 hour runtime. The tone of the movie and the way they handled the characters is for the most part, note perfect. The acting, visual effects (insanely good, improved over previous films), cinematography, are all impeccable. This show belongs to the main Avengers, and they certainly shine! “Endgame” feels quite different from “Infinity War”. I’d even go so far as to say that “Infinity War” was more entertaining and upbeat, while I was sure that I enjoyed that film, this one left me with mixed feelings and was more emotional than the previous film. There are so many surprises that you won’t see coming. Even expected plot elements are handled in a different way, and the final act is fantastic. So many crowd pleasing moments – there were quite a few dialogues I missed because the audience totally lost it in some scenes. It’s a testament to what Marvel has created, when these characters and this film gets the response normally expected from a regional mass film!Criticisms I had about “Endgame” – certain things fell into place, and characters worked out how to do certain things too easily. Also, with so many characters, some of them feel underused. I didn’t prefer the way one particular character was handled.Nevertheless, “Endgame” is an incredible achievement and an incredible experience. A 10/10 for sure.I drew Captain America from the movie, the drawing was done with Bic multi colour ballpoint pen on A6 @brustro sketchbook and scanned.#dailymoviesketch #avengersendgame (More in first comment.) #440 / 28-Apr-19
