[#DailyMovieSketch × #Inktober]Halloween (2018)Directed by David Gordon GreenThis is a sketch based on the #Inktober2018 prompt word "slice", what better sketch to do than one based on a slasher film, that too when the original one is considered a trendsetter.I watched this 2018 "Halloween" film last night. The original film by John Carpenter, "Halloween" (1978) was made on a budget of $350,000 and grossed millions of dollars. The franchise has an interesting history, with 7 sequels made before the series was rebooted by Rob Zombie, who made "Halloween" (2007) and a sequel, "Halloween II" (2009). This current film is actually a sequel to the 1978 original, ignoring all the other movies. Hence, if you count Rick Rosenthal's "Halloween II" (1981) and Rob Zombie's sequel, this is actually the third "Halloween II". But it's simply called "Halloween". Confused? The movie stars Jamie Lee Curtis returning in her role as Laurie Strode as she prepares to face off against Michael Myers, the masked psycho who terrorised her 40 years ago.I liked the visual style of the movie, it was fast paced and easy to watch, and the music was good, mixing in some of the original themes. However I felt overall the movie was decent, but kind of underwhelming, certainly they could have amped up the scares and the tension, and certain characters and things that happen in the movie exist solely to propel the plot forward. Overall worth watching but only if you like this type of movie. This is a sketch of Michael Myers as he gets back his iconic mask and becomes "The Shape" again. It was done with a Bic ballpoint pen and scanned.#halloween #michaelmyers #johncarpenter #theshape #ballpointpen#386 / 31-Oct-18
