[#DailyMovieSketch × #Inktober]Dark City (1998)Directed by Alex ProyasBased on the #Inktober2018 prompt word "clock". I thought of this movie because there is a giant clock that figures in the visual design of the movie, and the production company is Mystery Clock Films. This 1998 science fiction / fantasy movie begins with John Murdoch (Rufus Sewell) waking up in a dingy hotel room with no memory of who he is. There is a dead woman in the room. He soon receives a phone call that says that his memory has been erased and there are mysterious pale faced strangers after him. This setup is all I'll reveal, because saying anything more would be giving away spoilers. Of course if you saw the theatrical version back in 1998 (like me), there is an opening narration that explains who these strangers are, which was removed in the Director's cut that came out some years later. The movie is pretty amazing and though it didn't make all that much money on release, it has subsequently gone on to receive acclaim. I loved the visuals, the story, the music of the movie. I don't think it would be wrong to call this Alex Proyas's best film. Highly recommended.I drew Jennifer Connelly as Emma, John's wife. The drawing like my other Inktober sketches was done with a black Bic ballpoint pen and I used another red ballpoint pen to add a dash of colour. This is a scan of the drawing.#alexproyas #darkcity #jenniferconnelly #ballpointpen#380 / 20-Oct-18
