#NoSpoilers Thoughts on “Venom” — I watched this movie on Monday night, and quite enjoyed it. Actually, considering the mixed feedback that the movie has gotten, I liked it more than expected. The movie as the trailers indicate, opens with a space probe crashing on Earth. The craft was launched by the Life Foundation, run by the movie's villain Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed), bringing back alien symbiotes which he plans to use for his schemes. One such attaches itself to journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and Drake will stop at nothing to get his specimen back. The movie was entertaining, Tom Hardy gives it his all, as both Eddie and the voice of the Venom symbiote. It's fast paced and easy to watch but ultimately I felt it was very ordinary and does not match the quality of better comic book movies. They went with a more lighter tone than initially intended — the movie was supposed to be aiming for an adult rating and not the PG-13 that it ultimately got (maybe the studio intervened to make it so). Would an R rating made a difference despite the fundamental structure of the film? I'm not sure but we would have had some creative deaths to see.Music was quite Nine Inch Nails-esque by Ludwig Goransson, very different from his “Black Panther” score. I thought it was well done. The visuals were nice too (cinematography by Matthew Libatique). The credits animation was nice, there is one mid credit scene and one at the end. #vsco #google #pixel2xl #teampixel #flatlay #venom #DailyMovieSketch #pencilart
