Yashoda (2022)Directed by Hari and HarishI have to credit @mangopenciler2.0 and @tiny.sharma10 for pushing me to watch this movie in the theatre! I saw it last week and enjoyed it a lot.Samantha stars as Yashoda, a young woman in need of money who agrees to become a surrogate mother. She is taken to a surrogacy facility but gradually realises that something sinister is lurking beneath the surface.I love these thrillers where the protagonist is trapped in a facility or guarded place and the cracks begin to show (Gore Verbinski's "A Cure for Wellness" was the most recent of its type that I saw), and so I had a great time with it. The movie kept throwing a lot of ideas our way in the first half and it was engaging always. After the interval mark, I felt it got a bit rushed and predictable, since if you've seen enough of this type of movie, you'll figure out where they are heading with it. But no matter, if you are on board and willing to suspend disbelief a bit, you will have a good time. Samantha carried the movie really well in the lead role, and the action scenes were good too, overall a very entertaining movie.I was actually thinking that the movie would have been even more interesting if they had pushed the horror, violence and twisted elements even more, but that would have made it a less commercial venture than the existing U/A form.I drew Samantha from the movie, the drawing was done with 0.5 mm 4B mechanical pencil on Brustro sketchbook. You can swipe to see a scan and a few other related images. Before the movie started one person in the theatre was working on their laptop — I hope they got their work completed!#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#yashoda #samantha #pencil #pencildrawing #sketch #artistsoninstagram#telugu #hyderabad#705 / 23-Nov-22
