[#scifinktober22 by @alberto_sting Day 1]2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)Directed by Stanley KubrickIt's October and that means it's time for Inktober, the annual art challenge to make ink drawings all through October. I did the entire challenge once with 31 drawings, back in 2016, but in subsequent years I've not drawn things every day. This time, rather than going by the official Inktober Prompt List, I came across artist Alberto Russo's list of prompts based on science fiction movies. It's a set of 16 prompts, so, a drawing every two days which I think is more manageable. So, I thought I'll do those for this year. Most of the movies in the list I have seen and have made drawings of, for earlier Inktober editions. There are a couple I am guilty of not having watched, so I'll do that as a preparation for the challenge. The first movie is "2001" which one would often find in the lists of top science fiction movies of all time, a well deserved appreciation. The movie is experimental and not for everyone, I really like it though if I had not read about it (and read the book it was based on several years ago), I would not have appreciated it as much. The first part of the movie has a mysterious black monolith appearing in prehistoric times, which actually spurs development of humanity into using tools back when we were still apes. This is a frame showing the ape using a bone as a weapon / tool. This is a ballpoint pen drawing on A5 Brustro sketchbook, you can swipe to see a scan.@inktober #inktober #inktober2022#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#ballpointpen #ballpointpendrawing #ballpointpensketch#2001aspaceodyssey#697 / 1-Oct-22
