@gowriabhiram is a long time listener of the BBC Podcast Digital Planet, and has been active in the respective Facebook Community as well. Last month, my parents and I visited a place in Maharashtra that is the corresponding location on Earth, to the landing spot of the Perseverance Rover on Mars. This was part of writer/filmmaker Chris Riley's project to map sites of landers on Mars to their twin spots on Earth, and it was through the Podcast that this connect and visit happened. He has written articles on Medium about this project and our visit, and my mom was interviewed on the latest episode of the podcast as well.In this post — the first slide is a picture of my parents with farmers at the location, followed by the image featured in the Medium article, along with the EXIF and location info (the latitude and longitude are as close as we could get). Also included is a panorama shot at the spot, which if you are seeing it on Instagram, you should have three seamlessly tiling images and one with bars on top and bottom. There are also some screenshots from Stories that I posted. The relevant links can be found in the Linktree link in my bio (I had not used it much all this while, took the opportunity to update it with more links now). If you are listening for the Podcast episode, the relevant parts are at around 12 and 39 minutes.I shot all pictures with iPhone, the ones in this post are edited with VSCO and are in 3:2 aspect ratio (this is more because of the panorama — 9:2 was the closest ratio which preserved almost the entire image, hence it made sense to cut it up into three 3:2 segments).#karthikabhiram @apple #iphone12mini #shotoniphone
