I knew the plot of Star Trek IV involved whales, but I hadn't actually seen the movie. So a few days ago I watched it on @primevideoin and then drew this sketch.The movie begins with an alien probe appearing and heading towards Earth. The signal it emits disrupts all of Starfleet communication and disables their ships. Admiral Kirk and his crew determine that the alien craft is broadcasting a signal that's actually the song of humpback whales, now extinct in the 23rd Century. So they go back in time to 1986, to bring back two whales which should help them respond to the probe's signal.The storyline sounds absurd but the movie is very well done and executed with sincerity, and is very entertaining. I drew Spock from the movie, the drawing was done with a Bic ballpoint pen and a red ballpoint pen and scanned.#ballpointpen #startrek #spock #llap#379 / 17-Oct-18
