Boxes 🟦 and Lines — Lemon Tree Hotel, Hitech City. This photo is inspired by the very precise photos with patterns by @hashtagalek. I took this picture in the 50 megapixel mode of the @samsungwithgalaxy S22, so that I would have more flexibility to crop. Used Guided Upright tool in Lightroom to straighten the lines and then edited further in Snapseed and VSCO. You can see the original and partial edited photos in the other slides. There is a similar shot I took with the telephoto lens, I'll post that as well, later. #karthikabhiram #withgalaxy #hellohyderabad #straightfacade #s22 #galaxys22 #shotonphone

Kaithi (2019) × Vikram (2022)Directed by Lokesh KanagarajI already did a drawing based on "Vikram" and wrote about it as well. Since the movies "Kaithi" and this are interrelated, I had an idea to make a crossover drawing, this is one, which we may very well get to see in the sequels to either movie – the character Dilli from "Kaithi" facing off against the big bad revealed in "Vikram", Rolex. The actors being real life brothers would further make this a very interesting dynamic.Swipe to see a scan and also a "What If…" style poster I made. Though Lokesh has actually quoted "Die Hard" as an inspiration for "Kaithi" the setting of a police station did remind one of John Carpenter's "Assault on Precinct 13" (the movies are very different and not related though). The drawing was done with 0.5 mm 4B pencil on A5 notebook. This one took a long time to do, I think around 3 to 4 hours on Saturday.#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch #kaithi #vikram #rolex#pencilart #pencildrawing #pencil#669 / 11-Jun-22

Leo (2023)Directed by Lokesh KanagarajYesterday, at 5 PM, the title of Vijay's next movie was revealed, along with the release date and a promo video. What's very exciting about this for me is that it's his second collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj. I have loved every single one of Lokesh's movies, and I enjoyed "Master" greatly. So I am really looking forward to this, and it has music by Anirudh Ravichander too. These two people can do no wrong in my opinion! The teaser is very similar to the title reveal video for "Vikram", very similar shots and camera moves. Like the promo for "Vikram", I think it doesn't have any actual footage from the movie itself, it's its own thing. We see intercut footage of Vijay making chocolate, and Vijay forging a sword, and then these two elements kind of sync up with him dipping the forged sword into chocolate! He says the tagline of the movie "Bloody Sweet", and we see the title of the movie "Leo" with the release date of 19 October 2023. You hear an eagle sound, and an eagle flying in one shot of the teaser, which could be a reference to 'the eagle is coming' line from the "Once Upon a Time" song from "Vikram". As mentioned, this teaser is very similar to the "Vikram" title reveal video, which has to be intentional, so whether this movie will also be part of the Lokiverse or not, we will have to see. The "Bloody Sweet" song reminded me of the track "34 Ghosts IV" by Nine Inch Nails, it's not the same but gave similar vibes to me. It's really great. Can't wait to watch the movie! Also, I must mention @niveddo because, it's through his Instagram Stories that I got to know about this title reveal.I drew Vijay from the end of the teaser video. The drawing is done with 0.5 mm 4B mechanical pencil on a new A5 sketchbook that was recently gifted to me. You can swipe to see a scan.#karthikabhiram #dailymoviesketch#leo #thalapathy67 #vijay #lokeshkanagaraj #lcu #lokiverse #shotoniphone #716 / 4-Feb-23

Knock at the Cabin • Mini Vlog • I enjoyed the movie, thought it was well acted and engaging throughout, and didn't overstay its welcome. The interesting premise is — four strangers turn up at a cabin, where a family of three (two dads and their adopted daughter) is vacationing. The family is told that they have to make a choice — they have to choose one among them who is to be sacrificed, and then kill that person, otherwise the world will end. It's very well photographed, has nice music, and is M Night Shyamalan in great form. I will maybe do a sketch also later. Here's a vlog I made, this is usually how I plan Friday movie nights after office and gym. #karthikabhiram @samsungwithgalaxy #withgalaxy #vlog #knockatthecabin #hellohyderabad

HDR Video in Instagram Reels on iPhone • (EDIT: This doesn’t always seem to be displayed in HDR.) I recently have been observing that on iPhone, when viewing some Reels, they appear to be shown in HDR. The iPhone 12 series and above support recording Dolby Vision High Dynamic Range video. I usually had HDR turned off because those clips became SDR anyway when used outside of iPhone and even in Reels. Now it looks like Instagram has added support for HDR video in Reels. This Reel is made up of HDR clips, so when viewing it on iPhone you should see increased brightness especially in the highlight areas (look at the whites). They will look ‘normal’ on other phones. I did a few tests, apparently if you use HDR and SDR clips, the whole thing becomes SDR, also if I add any text or captions, again you lose the HDR. I actually wanted to show a comparison and give some explanation but this caption will have to do for that. To use this you have to go to the Settings app on your iPhone and go to Camera, and under the Video Recording options, you can turn on the option for High Dynamic Range. Also, when uploading the Reel, do it preferably on WiFi, and check the option under Advanced Settings to Upload at Highest Quality and make sure it’s on (it’s off by default). #karthikabhiram #tutorial #hdrvideo #highdynamicrange #hellohyderabad #hitechcity #hdr #shotoniphone #iphone
